upgraded from optimum's router that they give you. Speed went up dramatically, and the wifi reached further than the old router.

I upgraded my router/modem combo to a Netgear modem and the Nighthawk AC2300 and WOW! I was running speed tests and I was consistently getting large numbers. Easy to set up and it is working just fine.
