Worthless

Purchased for parental controls and was completely disappointed. First problem was the router hooked up to my providers WiFi router/ modem. Anyone wishing to avoid parental controls would just need to connect to the providers router to avoid controls. Secondly, after setting up parental controls I was notified that the devices were running IOS 14 or newer and couldn’t be identified and therefore the controls wouldn’t work. I could go to each device and change some of their settings in order for it to work but what’s the point in that. The user could just change the settings back. Completely useless for me. Returned the next day.

Bad experience. Restarting several times a day...

I bought this router few months ago. The positive thing to say, is that: when it works, it works really good. BUT, The router keeps restarting itself few times a day. It is super annoying, and when I searched the web for solutions, I found that it is a very common problem. I don't understand how a company like Netgear can sell such terrible experience.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Versatile and Long Range

Very easy admin access and router configuration. Really like the 3G and 5G access for short and long range connectivity. Ping is phenomenal via RJ45 and WiFi. Keep up the great work!

Had to replace in ~1.5 years

I can't get into the technical details of our issue, but hoping this review may save someone money.
We bought our Nighthawk router in ~May of 2020 after a few months of struggling with our wifi when we both started working from home. While it was an improvement over our Apple Airport (yeah, it was old), we've still had spottiness with our wifi and significantly lower speeds than when hard-wired. We even tried changing our internet provider and started paying for increased speeds to see if that was the issue, but we're now convinced it's the router.
Less than 2 years later, my partner is currently out purchasing a different router. Given the price tag, we were completely underwhelmed with it's performance and frustrated at having to replace it in such a short time period. We are not interested in purchasing another Netgear product after this experience.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

There was also a Firmware update on 9-16-21 with a hotfix: https://kb.netgear.com/000064028/R7000P-Firmware-Version-1-3-3-142-Hot-Fix.
However, if you are out of warranty and need help, you can still get help by posting your issues over in the NETGEAR Community forums. There are moderators and other community members that are happy to help out with any problems you are having.

Works Great!

Set up wired internet to my kids upstairs bedrooms plus to my living room Smart TV and we all are getting the same high speed results. The WiFi works great for all our smart phones too.

Easiest Setup Ever!

The setup for this router was so easy. Just downloaded the app to my phone and followed the instructions. Within 5 minutes it was all done. Would recommend for anyone!
