Great WiFI Modem Router

over the years I have tried several different routers to have sufficient coverage in the house. This one provides wall to wall coverage in my 2 story home.

Good looking, less performance than expected

I purchased this to replace a single antenna Netgear 2G only unit. I am surprised that the performance is less than the older unit

Crazy modem

I had no idea I was going to have this problem buying this modem. It has a tendency to consistently go in and out of internet service. I’ve called my internet provider and they came and fixed everything they could and I was told I’m getting internet that it’s the modem that is defective. I didn’t believe them due to the company’s reputation. I was told to give netgear a call and they have to troubleshoot it with me. So once I began to call after making my appointment I’ve waited an hour on hold to get a hold of somebody to troubleshoot a modem that was defective according to the rep. They’ve sent me a new modem and the internet is still going in and out at certain times of the day. After calling my company and complaining to them saying that it can’t be the modem due to it being brand new and straight from netgear they told me it was. I had three technicians come out and check all the wires and connections and was told everything was fine. After doing more research I’ve found that this device is notorious for having this problem. So if your looking for a modem beware of this one or you might get lucky and not have this problem.

Best Gaming Router

Being able to fine tune and get it dialed in to work perfectly with my Xbox, pc and other electronics do make sure there is no lag or buffering

Firmware version

I couldn’t update my firmware version from Comcast to spectrum approved. Had 5-6 times of dropped connection an hr and I spent a week talking to spectrum and NETGEAR trying to switch firmware versions with no luck. So I returned it and got a c7000v2 and works way better

fantastic router, worth every penny. Easy to customize and set up and the wireless signal goes through my whole home with full signal (2 story duplex with basement)

Loving it!

Living out in the country limits the internet capabilities that we can get. Running with the modem/router combo from the cable company kept my family in a balancing act with the devices we would be using simultaneously. Switched to my nighthawk router and changed all that. I can game on PC while my son plays online with his PS4 and all the while running two other PCs using VPN’s for work. This thing is a beast! It changed my WiFi game. Can’t wait to see what it can do when we finally have fiber internet ran our way.

Got a dud

This router was recommended by my internet provider, but barely worked when installed. It was worse than my older router. Had to return.
