Works great, plastic parts constantly breaking

Had a unit for a short time and already had issues with plastic part breakage. Super disappointing for a premium price. Expect to have order many plastic parts if you purchase or own one. Great chopping and processing otherwise.
Also the french fry cutter mini blades are not connected to the lower plate insert and bend out of place making this blade useless after first uses too. Disappointing for such a great power unit too.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bowl developed crack after careful use and only hand washing

I’ve owned this food processor for several years. I use it very infrequently (maybe once every two months). I take extremely good care of it and wash it by hand after every use. However, just like other reviewers, a crack has developed at the base of the bowl near where the gear attaches to the motor. This is such a huge disappointment after investing a lot of money into this premium food processor and taking extremely good care of it. There is obviously a design flaw in this bowl given that so many people have experienced this problem. Breville, please fix this for us so we can enjoy your otherwise great product!

This machine does what it supposed to do

I have had this machine for 3 years, and like many others, have had too replace the plunger. The big problem I have had is the larch 16 bowl. First thing that broke was a piece at the outside bottom. I was able to glue that back on. The entire bowl is now leaking - Had to throwout the liquid of the bread I was making. The other problem I have is cleaning the rotator on the base. the stuff that leaked is now encrusted in the spokes and although I have used Q-tips and toothpicks I still can't get it clean. I actually have recommended it to a friend because it has a really powerful motor which I am hoping lasts forever! I bake a lot of bread with my processor.
I would recommend this to a friend!

They don't sell the correct replacement for the food pusher.

At first I was very happy with it, but...
Like Lynne, when I put the food pusher in the dishwasher, it melted just enough to be unusable. I bought a replacement, but it ISN'T the same piece. (The original has an insert for a larger pusher and a smaller one. This one only allows the smaller pusher, and it isn't a snug fit.)
For the price, I expect to be able to fix a mistake I made after less than ten uses.
If they would simply offer to sell the correct replacement part, I would have given this five stars.

Reliable Until You Need spare Parts

We bought this 800 XL to process food for our baby who is quickly growing into a toddler. Each day for the last year we have blended steamed vegetables and made fruit smoothies for him. The processing bowl assembly is cracked. The food pusher is cracked and it collects water inside of it every time we wash it. It looks like instead of being able to purchase new parts, we will have to purchase a whole new machine and this is unfortunate for us, the consumer. The inability to purchase spare parts has also affected us with other Breville products that we have purchased.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
