Excellent customer service

I'm updating my poor review as of a couple of weeks ago. The company responded immediately to my review and sent me a replacement (a brand new machine) and I sent the other one back. They made the process very easy as well. Thank you Breville, the new machine works much better.

"Pro" Isn't just a Marketing Word for This High-grade Food Processor

The Breville Sous Chef 16 Pro delivers a higher level of precision and consistent quality than any other consumer-grade food processor I have ever used. It's bigger and heavier, too -- but I think that the weight adds to it's precision. Its smooth edges enable easy cleaning. And the mini-bowl is great, too -- perfect for making, say, a small quantity of mayo. Pro tip: the precision of the unit requires every one of its elements to remain in excellent condition. If any one element becomes cracked or off kilter, everything will still work -- but not as well and eventually, it will cause bigger problems. Don't ignore when this happens.

Too many components to clean for a small blend task

After 12 months of use i have found my motor is good and powerful, my bowl has so far held up to mild use but and its a big but, it takes way too much washing up for a simple blend task:
For example to use the little bowl you need the big bowl (1), the little bowl (2), the little pusher (3), the little pusher lid (4), the big pusher (5), the bowl lid (6) and the blade (7).
Thats 7 pieces to wash! you don't need the little pusher lid but if you separate the lid from the little pusher it will only get lost or thrown out sooner or later as it looks like any old plastic cap.
By the time I am done blending up fruit or vegies, my entire sink washing basket then gets taken up by all the components of 1 simple blend
I like Breville as a brand and their products but Breville really need to rethink their design and allow the little bowl to be used on its own as well as redesign the bowl lid components. For a tool that is designed to save time in the kitchen, the cleaning volume more than makes up for any time saved and then some.

Overheats

Generally, for quick usage it is fab. But if you need it to go for a prolonged period it over heats and stops working. You have to wait a long while for it to cool down. Annoying!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Only one flaw

This is a fabulous kitchen appliance but I hate that water gets trapped in the handle. Mine is new and I’m worried that it might not age well as it gets washed numerous times

Disappointed!

After researching, I purchased the Breville model BFP800XL to replace a Cuisinart that was used for over 20 years, looking forward to a larger processing bowl. After 2 years of light use the motor just stopped. Checking all parts and alignments, I found no issues. I am so very disappointed at the lack of quality and durability. Quite an investment for such a short lived product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The lid cracked when grating Parmesan cheese and I have not been able to purchase a replacement lid in over a year. Thus it is serving as a large paperweight on my kitchen countertop currently.
