Water and Ice Dispenser on the Door

I love everything about this refrigerator except the ice and water dispense on the door. The place where you switch from water to ice cubes is already scratched and the surface is marred, the lever that you press to make the water come out is already water stained with water spots and the bottom tray that catches the water is stained as well. Keep in mind that this refrigerator is less than 2 weeks old. I hate to think of what it will look like in a year???? It is clearly visible and the first thing you see when you look at the fridge. Also, the plastic that controls the release of the ice cubes is coming off of the ice dispenser on the inside of the freezer already. Other than that, I really do like the fridge. I guess I will just have to order a bunch of replacement parts to keep on hand when the water spots become too unsightly!!

Nice performer, but not true stainless

This fridge does well keeping temps and making ice. We went to counter depth for this one and we’re pleased with the room and available space inside. The “stainless” facade is just that….a facade. If magnets stick, it’s got ferrous material which means it’ll rust and is not truly stainless like my salesman postulated.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Perfect Small Refrigerator

Being a counter depth side by side, this refrigerator is not overly spacious inside, but the shelving options are plentiful to tailor the space to hour needs. The cooling is consistent and ice/water feature works well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Beautiful Appearance

Love the look of our new fridge. We bought the entire Cafe appliance package. Unfortunately, this refrigerator is my least favorite of all of them. Not as much room inside as expected and arrived with ice machine not working. Had that fixed at no cost by GE, but now the water dispenser is not working. We’ve had it for a little over a month.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Adequate but not Fabulous

Exterior look is good. Inside capacity feels small. The quick space shelf is a nice feature but wish it locked into position better. It is easy to bump it and have it shift backward. Bottom produce drawer is only half the depth of the other drawers which limits capacity. We have had this fridge 3 weeks and already had to have a service call for one of the refrigerator doors creaking every time it opens. It seemed fixed and now the creaking is back. Do not think I would buy this model again.

The quickest and cleanest way to eliminate the squeaking of a refrigerator door is to lubricate the top and bottom hinges with the below recommended oils, then work the door back and forth until the noise goes away.
-Paraffin wax (not candle wax) - can also be used on the door gaskets
-Petroleum jelly - recommended for hinges, door gaskets and Fresh Food drawers/bins (including rollers)
-Mineral oil - general use anywhere, can be washed off

Noisy

Within 6 months of installing this refrigerator, it started making a loud buzzing noise approx once every hours - loud enough to wake up a child sleeping in the next room. We have had GE out to fix it 3 times already and it keeps recurring. Now GE says our warrantee is expired and we'll have to pay for further repairs of the same problem that they haven't fixed the first 3 times out to our house.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
