Zero Cooling and Fridge is Practically Brand New

So very disappointed in our brand new GE Cafe fridge that completely stopped cooling and freezing. Had to throw out nearly everything in the fridge. Fridge is only 8+ months old and has dead compressor, according to service tech from GE distributor who sold us the fridge. Understand it could be weeks or even longer for this to be fixed, if it even can be, leaving us without a refrigerator. What has happened to GE quality?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Classy and solid

We purchased the Cafe refrigerator to match the microwave and double oven. We upgraded to bronze handles and love the style and sturdy hardware. So far, the features and performance are excellent.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Looks Great, Cafe Took some shortcuts

Aesthetically, the refrigerator looks great. Functionally, from a cooling perspective it works ok. The Freezer seems to work fine; however, even when set at the recommended temperatures, the refrigerator compartment maintains inconsistent temperatures throughout, with some areas freezing while others are not quite cold enough. The most major issue we have had in the 4 months of ownership are that the drawers in the refrigerator compartment have already broken with normal use. They are made of very cheap plastic. The company replaced them with no issue, though.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Adjusting and Happy

I am enjoying my new refrigerator. I am getting use to the new layout (such a creature of habit that I am - it is often hard to adjust) I Love the Lights!!! - I can see and the dimmer is an added bonus (yes the little things. Configuring the shelves for my use and being able to change when I have a special need is awesome. The refrigerator cools great. IT does its job. The refrigerator is counter depth. A smidge taller that the old. Handles are great. Cannot wait to get the black extra handles. I have them on the range, It compliments my kitchen (my spouse was skeptical and NOW a fan!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was in the middle of writing this and hit done thinking I was done with the photos - so hopefully the beginning of my review with photos came thru.
I originally put 5 stars but was going to change to 4 only because I do not like the way the shelves in the freezer seem to have ice on them all the time — -normal?

In case my other review did not come thru— we are very happy with space but there are only 2 of us - not sure how it would be with a large family. Pizza boxes fit-and I like the small shelf in top for our ice cream sundaes. I was nervous refrigerator would not fit all our condiments-but no problem at all.
First time for ice maker / water on the door. If I had to do all over I would stick with bottles of water (which we are doing anyway -not thrilled with taste of water) & ice maker inside. When we have our Martini’s or other similar drinks we have to fill another glass with ice first (otherwise I think the ice coming down would break the glass)-kind of a nuisance. But that is obviously just a personal preference.Otherwise all ok (so far).
Just 1 warning- if you get the counter depth side by side -be sure you have enough room to open door wide.We won’t be able to remove the bottom drawers, and you have to be careful to make sure the door does not slam into the counter whenever you open it. Might be a problem if you have young children. Going to try to add picture.

We only reviewed the refrigerator on line. After it was installed we were very impressed with the quality and features. The interior shelving and lighting is very nice.
