We have been using a counter-top Berkey system for many years. The Berkey replacement filters are more than this entire system. I can't believe we waited so long to upgrade to an under the counter system. So far, this has worked out great. The only bad thing is that the water pressure is low so it comes out slow.
Pros: Clean taste, Doesn't Take Up Much Room, Easy to install
I am so happy with the filtered water. I feel like its safe and clean to drink. Also it signals me when to change the filters. That is a wonderful advantage. I did have to have a plumber to install it.
Pros: Clean taste, Durable, Easy to clean, I Love The Taste, Long lasting filter, No Chemical Tastesmell
Had my kitchen remodeled and this is the first time I've used an undersink water filtration system. I've only had use of it for a couple of weeks now, but the water tastes great. The contractor had no problem installing it in a convenient place for filter changes. Since this is new to me, I have not had to change filters yet and therefore cannot comment on this. The filter faucet looks great and goes well with the main sink faucet and works well. Some people feel that the water flow is quite slow but I don't find this to be a problem.
So happy that I switched from using a filter pitcher to this. The water is so much healthier and tastes better too. Being an independent woman, I was able to install this myself in less than two hours. Watching a short YouTube video on the install helped as well.
Pros: Clean taste, Durable, Easy to install, Long lasting filter
We just moved into a new house and needed to purchase a new refrigerator. My wife is not impressed with the filters available with the refrigerators, so she asked me to look into an in-line filter similar to what we had at our last house. I found and settled on the Aquasana AQ-5300 after seeing the performance data sheet (http://www.aquasana.com/assets/AQ-5300_Performance_Data.pdf) and reviewing that with my wife. The installation was not too difficult. I needed a couple of trips (since I did not bring both hoses with me on the first trip) to a local big box store to get the correct connectors to go from the 1/4" refrigerator faucet to the 3/8" input line for the filter and then from the 1/8" outlet line from the filter to the 1/4" input for the refrigerator. Fortunately the parts I needed were all standard and the employee helping me new what they had and what I needed. We put it in the cabinet over the refrigerator, so I had to drill two holes for the water line to run through. It's all installed, and there were no leaks. The water has no flavor or odor (which were both present before the filter). So far, so good.
I had been filling jugs of water from my counter top model but the flow is so much better on this, that we usually just turn on the faucet when we need it. If you do want to fill a jug though, the faucet doesn't extend out far enough into the sink to hit the center of a gallon jug so you have to prop it up with something while it is filling (or hold it). That is my only complaint! Otherwise, I love it!
Pros: Attractive, Clean taste, Easy to clean, Long lasting filter, Quicker Flow Than Ctr Top
Cons: Difficult to install, Faucet Reach Is Limited
