We just moved into a new house and needed to purchase a new refrigerator. My wife is not impressed with the filters available with the refrigerators, so she asked me to look into an in-line filter similar to what we had at our last house. I found and settled on the Aquasana AQ-5300 after seeing the performance data sheet (http://www.aquasana.com/assets/AQ-5300_Performance_Data.pdf) and reviewing that with my wife. The installation was not too difficult. I needed a couple of trips (since I did not bring both hoses with me on the first trip) to a local big box store to get the correct connectors to go from the 1/4" refrigerator faucet to the 3/8" input line for the filter and then from the 1/8" outlet line from the filter to the 1/4" input for the refrigerator. Fortunately the parts I needed were all standard and the employee helping me new what they had and what I needed. We put it in the cabinet over the refrigerator, so I had to drill two holes for the water line to run through. It's all installed, and there were no leaks. The water has no flavor or odor (which were both present before the filter). So far, so good.
I had been filling jugs of water from my counter top model but the flow is so much better on this, that we usually just turn on the faucet when we need it. If you do want to fill a jug though, the faucet doesn't extend out far enough into the sink to hit the center of a gallon jug so you have to prop it up with something while it is filling (or hold it). That is my only complaint! Otherwise, I love it!
Pros: Attractive, Clean taste, Easy to clean, Long lasting filter, Quicker Flow Than Ctr Top
Cons: Difficult to install, Faucet Reach Is Limited
Excellent product!I am very satisfied with the crystal clear water that feels light on your stomach compared to tap/ bottled water. Because of this I can now drink more than 2L per day and carry a glass bottle with me outside the house! I would definitely recommend it to everyone!A+++
I like this water; taste is good, usage is easy (little slow, but with such a fossil I don't think it might be quicker. It was not as easy to install for my superintend maybe because he suppose to remove previous my water filter system first. Previous one - Aquilife - was very expensive and really complicated one
