The installation was pretty straight forward as this was replacing my old RO system that malfunctioned and was wasting a lot of water. The filters may improve the quality, but there is NO improvement in the taste over straight tap water, and we have Los Angeles tap water (not the best tasting in the world.) The old RO system gave us great tasting water but wasted a lot to get that taste. I also installed one of these filter systems in my RV but because the pump doesn't produce a lot of pressure, the flow rate is very low. I just hope the filtration is as good as they claim.
Did not know how bad the city water tasted until we installed this filter. It was so easy to install, and without incident. We actually drink more water now that this is installed. The only comment I could make, is the fact that for the 3/8" line, a plastic collar is included that looks like it should be installed in one direction, but after contacting Aquasana, apparently it does not matter. Would clear things up for the installer, if either it was multi-directional in shape, or at least mentioned in the instructions, that it does not matter how it is installed. No mention whatsoever in video, or written instructions.
Pros: Clean taste, Durable, Easy to clean, Easy to install, Long lasting filter
I like the quality of the water. We had very high chlorine and our water was undrinkable. The change was instant! There needs to be a reworking of the connections to the spout and a larger output stream for drinking/cooking use.
Pros: Clean taste, Easy to install, Long lasting filter
Cons: Slow pour, poor spout to water source connection
I was disappointed in this filtration system. Directions are scanned & small so they cannot be enlarged with clarity. Spigot cannot be tightened snug so it is loose and flimsy. Joints leak but eventually stopped dripping. I specifically did not over tighten. Slow pour / lack of pressure when filling up a glass.
Pros: Clean taste
Cons: Difficult to install, Directions are scanned cannot enlarge photo, Poor design cannot tighten spigot so it is snug, Slow pour, cheap hardware
I want 3/8 compression connections for braided tubing or hard copper. One filter leaked badly when first connected, had to be removed and reinstalled. Plastic housing separated when installing filters and had to be pushed back together.
Pros: Has adequate flow, Works as advertised
Cons: Faucet handle position is inconvenient, Non-standard water connections, Plastic parts are not firmly connected, Uses plastic tubing that is impossible to discon
Set-up under sink for drinking water, replaced GE filter set-up which needed replacement much sooner than the claimed 3 month intervals for filter replacement. Also GE filters were difficult to locate locally & over the internet.
