The kit came with 2 compression rings for the small tube going into the spout, but NO compression ring for the T fitting which taps into the water shut off and goes to the filters.......Good thing I do some plumbing and have spare parts around................. Someone who receives this filter kit and does little of this type of work would be in trouble here.
Pros: Clean taste, Durable, Easy to clean, Easy to install
Clean tastings water, even taste better that my beer, if you don:t here from me , the good tasting water beat the beer; Thank you for a excellent product
The only problem with reviewing a product you've only been using a few weeks is you can't really check certain Pros or Cons like filters lasting a long or short time because you don't really know yet, but I'll do my best to give anyone considering this product as much useful information as possible. I found it easy to install. However, I'm above average in "handiness." I'm guessing most people who are somewhat handy will be able to tackle a DIY (do it yourself) installation. If you don't think you could change your kitchen faucet yourself, you may want to consider hiring a handyman or plumber. I added "build quality" to the Pros list because I like the way the filters are mounted/replaced in the undercounter filter unit and the faucet piece seems of good quality. I don't really find it a "Con" but I think it's worth mentioning that although it's not mentioned in any of the sales information, the unit is hooked up using plastic tubing. This is fairly common practice these days for ice makers and the like but I'm not a big fan of it. It's much easier to install but more prone to leaks. In addition, you can't switch to soft copper because it uses slip connectors at the filter unit. Again, easy to install, but only time will tell how reliable they are. This is fairly petty but, the unit came shipped with 3/8" compression tee to facilitate teeing off the sink's cold water supply line. My house has a 1/2" rigid copper supply and stays 1/2" all the way to the faucet. Hence, the fitting they provided was useless, requiring a trip to the hardware store before I could even start the installation. Hardy a "Con" but if the salesperson would have simply asked if wanted a 3/8" or 1/2" fitting shipped with my unit it would have saved me a trip to the store, $10 cash, and I wouldn't have 3/8" fitting I don't need. Overall I'm going to give this product a thumbs up for a few reasons. One, if the reports are true on how much better this unit purifies water than pitcher filters, that is reason enough to get a thumbs up from me. Two, convenience factor. I can't even begin to tell you how nice it is to have an endless supply of clean drinking water on demand. There's nothing worse than waking up and having to wait for water to filter before i can make coffee. I should have done away with the ridiculous pitchers a long time ago. Three, happy wife, happy life. Need I say more?
