No sooner than I ordered the unit I received a letter in the mail that declared our water did not pass the federal safety standard go figure. luckily I have a water filter in the refrigerator. Purchased and received the unit in a timely manner with all parts necessary to install. Install was very easy, simple and safe. I would rate it a high easy to low medium on the Do it yourself scale. Compared the water company safety specifications to the Aquasana unit water safety spec test and found that what was in the water was removed by the unit. If you are going to buy any water purification system make sure it removes the elements that are unhealthy in your water system. The water unit is providing safe drinking water to my entire family and I think that is the most important aspect of this unit. Although the taste can use some improvement it is a great unit for household use.
Pros: Better Than Tap Water, Easy to install, Long lasting filter, Noticeable Difference, Safe Drinking Water
if you make the brass tee w more adaptors for 1\2 and 3\8 and 1\4 fittings, and make a combo dishwasher air gap and outlet faucet you would sell many more
We've had our Aquasana purifier for only a short time, and really enjoy the clarity and taste of the water. I'm not plumber-skilled, so installing was somewhat of a challenge, but the deed is done and we're very happy.
I love my Aquasana water filter; the water tastes great and it is so convenient. I am on the water-for-life plan so don't have to worry about remembering to change the filters, I am reminded of when it is time. The effort of installation, which I hired someone to do, is worth the gains in having the unit.
Pros: Clean taste, Durable, Easy to clean, Long lasting filter
It would be GREAT if they would offer an RV installation kit separately. My trailer uses PEX, so I found a Shark Bite T the perfect size and installed the entire Aquasana filter in about 1 hour (including drilling the sink for the new spigot) without any unusual tools (didn't need a Pex clamp with SharkBite T). Since RVs move around a lot, water quality is constantly questionable. This filter system reduces dramatically the variability of water flavor and quality.
The fixtures for attaching the tubes to the the house-side and filter-side hardware have several options. Much better parts breakouts with clear examples of how the several options are best composed should be clearly illustrated and in a scale that one can actually read. Additionally, because it is likely that some installations may require longer tubing, clear explanation of good locally-obtainable tubing choices should be explained, e.g., copper tubing and other options free of leaching chemicals.
