I really love this system! I have to admit, I was hesitant but after I tasted the filtered water, I was so happy! I already had the plugin system that I put on top of my counter! This is so much better and convenient! Thank you for your persistent emails, I kept putting it off! Finally I purchased it and wondered how I was gonna put it in. But it was so simple. I'm a senior and not mechanical at all. It was done in 1 hour flat! So releeved.
I installed the filters in my basement directly below the kitchen sink and ran plastic tubing up to new faucet on sink. Easier to get to the three filters to replace and didn't have to squeeze into opening under sink to make connections. Liked it so well I ordered one for my Daughter and when I get it I will install it in her basement like I did with mine. You have to go out and buy longer roll of tubing but the cost is cheap.
Pros: Clean taste, Durable, Easy to clean, Easy to install, Long lasting filter
This system was part of a kitchen upgrade I did myself. As a "weekend warrior" plumber I found it easy to deal with. I'd never worked with the push-in fittings before, I'm an old "solder guy," but once I learned the basics it was very easy. You really need to understand how far you need to push the tubing into the fittings, its not obvious if you've never done it, but it works perfectly when done right. The flow is slow, that's probably necessary in a filter system without a reservoir tank, but if you just give it time, fill up a pitcher when you'll need more water fast, its really not a big issue. This is a brand new install so I can't comment on filter life at this point. We're enjoying the new system so far.
Researched and Aquasana under-sink filter was exactly what we wanted. The water tastes great and I think the water flow is fine for a small spout. It sure is faster than refrigerator filtered water dispenser! The only negative is that we can not get it installed tight enough to hold it in place. We keep having to go under the sink and retighten it. Not sure if the problem is our sink or the spout fixture. It also seems a bit flimsy. Our son will drink from the spout (NOT supposed to) and sometimes he leans on the spout. I'm very afraid he is going to break it because it just doesn't feel solid/steardy enough.
