This brought the already-high pH 10.5 water up to pH 11.5 - which was tested on a calibrated pH meter. Rather too high for drinking water. Additionally, it was not until I got the system that I learned high pH water requires more-frequent replacement of the reverse osmosis membrane (also every 6 months). Our water has such high pH due to "lime softening" at the municipal water treatment plant.
