We have had this system for a few years now and have had at least 4 rather major leaks. 2 happened after changing the filters. The mineral cartridge is extremely difficult to get a secure fit and it doesn't start to leak right away. This last time, it leaked some time after 30 minutes from it being changed (we checked it 30 minutes after changing and it wasn't leaking but we woke up to a flooded cabinet and a collapsing ceiling in the basement. Really nice.). The 2 other times, it just randomly starts to leak at the faucet and we have to "burp" the system by holding our finger over the hole that is behind the faucet lever and wait until we hear the system make a gurgle sound. If you like water damage and having mold issues, this system is great as it provide ample opportunities for leaking. The tast of the filtered water is fine. It feels "soft" when drinking so at least that much is ok with it.
Pros: Clean taste
Cons: Difficult to install
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I had a problem with a broken o-ring. It was necessary to replace the entire unit as, apparently, Aquasana doesn’t have any access to that replacement part for customers. I suppose that’s why the instructions say to be very careful when replacing filters so the o-ring doesn’t become damaged.
Pros: Clean taste, Good Water Flow, Nice faucet, Easy to install
Cons: Slow pour

Changing this filter is extremely difficult!

The product page reads, “ Expertly engineered for easy replacement. No need to disconnect hoses or water lines – simply twist off and replace.” What???!!! There are hoses/water lines to disconnect, that is for sure. But the worst part is trying to connect the replacement filter into the housing. It is so difficult in fact, that I will have to pay a plumber next time to change it. Hey, an instructional video would have been really helpful! Get a clue, Aquasana.

Cons: Difficult to install
