I purchased this filter because I did not want to spend a lot of money but wanted good performance. I was planning on moving soon so I chose not to get the more permanent under counter reverse osmosis versions. This has been working out well. I don't keep it attached to my kitchen sink all the time. I only connect it every 4-5 days. Instead I use glass bottles to store my water. I have 20 of them and I wait until there empty and then fill them all up again.
