The drinking water filter removes so much more than other brands of filters. Our municipal water in the Chicago area is considered to be very good, so taste & odor were never a problem. Research has convinced me that the best municipal water treatment cannot remove certain "chemicals" that are now appearing in our water. That is why I filter my drinking and cooking water. The "water for life" filter replacement program makes life so much easier by not having to remember when you need to reorder, having to be timely in doing so, and it spreads out the payment of, etc. And you can adjust your delivery schedule at any time.

I do not need a new filter every 6 months. It is not flashing so I have not changed it. Did not know it could be cleaned. Does that prolong the use? Easier than the last version but still not easy to install. If this had not been a gift I would not buy on my own. I use it mainly because I have a kurig.

I recenting moved into my just purchased home in a new area in which is serviced by puble water. I originally thought that I had hard water. I started noticing a residue left in the dogs water bowl. My daughter was getting acne when she never had it before. I started my investigation of house water filters and found Aquasana. My water is now soft, no residue in dogs water bowl, tastes so much better and my daugthers acne has gone away. My only issue is that I need to call a plumber in every 6 months to change the filters. Some grains of charcoal tend to miss the filter if you don't flush a long time. I would like to see one that can adapt to my bar sink type faucet the way Pure can I don't think the taste is as pure as I think it should be
