Ok so maybe not if you live in the mountains of Colorado or drink fresh 30,000 year old glacier water, but in the city where most infrastructure is over the age of 50, you NEED filtration. I modified the below sink 2 stage filters to filter my refrigerator water before it gets inside of it. The 2 stage filter system from Aquasana does a GREAT job of filtering our water. I was more than ecstatic when it came time to change the filters. THEY WERE DIRTY as all get out! Our ice cubes are crystal clear and the coffee now tastes like coffee!
Pros: Clean taste, Long lasting filter, Durable, Easy to install

First Filter catches all obvious stuff.(such as brown sediment in our municipal water sometimes.) Second filter looks clean after 4 months of use.
Installation could be improved. When you attempt to unscrew the bottom of the filter case the whole case comes off. When you attempt to reinstall you have to get your head way down under so you can see where the little notches are.(a major pain when you have drain pipes in the way)
There should be some sort of lock/unlock switch that holds the top of the filter case in place,so when you unscrew it the whole case doesn't come off.

I have this installed so the thought of starting over with another product makes me keep it. Replacing the filters is hard. They get a vapor lock on them and I cannot get them open! And a tool cannot be used. So I have to have a strong person come and get them open for me.
