It is silent and durable. It filters our well water wonderfully and only requires me changing cartridges ever 8 months or so. Yes, I do have to wait for my hubby to assist as I am not strong enough to do it, but that means NO LEAKS :) Heck, we like it so much I got a counter top one for the bathroom!
