I bought this toaster about three months ago. We have used for toast, bagels, muffins and waffles. All came out the way we like. This is the first toaster that I have purchased in years that makes muffins the way I like.

I bought the Cuisinart 4 slice toaster several months ago. It toasts well and permits a person to either toast 2 or 4 slices. If you want to toast an English muffin or bagel it is not readily visible which side of the slice will heat up. The levels of toasting range from light to rather dark, thus accomodating for different preferences of people in the family. I'm not sure what I would recommend in terms of design appearance, but it seems to me to be somewhat unattractive. That said, it works great.

I previously had a Calphalon toaster and would not recommend that brand at all. It was only a few years old and needed replacement, so after reading reviews, I purchased the Cuisinart because I have a Cuisinart hand mixer that I have had for many years and it has served me well. While I have only had the toaster for a short period of time, we are extremely pleased with it's performance. Easy to use, works well, nice features and works as advertised and I am hoping to get the same long term reliability as I have with my mixer.
