I waited for months as the pan was on backorder. It was worth waiting for! The sides are high and slope outwards. That enables me to deep fry using less oil. However, I lose cooking surface when frying. Guess it's a trade off. Have used it numerous times and it wipes clean with paper towels. Will not put in the dishwasher. My husband loves the pan also.

That extra depth over the standard size skillet makes the pan particularly useful in a variety of ways. I'm ambivalent about the tapered shape. It makes the pan a bit more wok-like which is good, but it reduces the actual heated area which is bad. The overall construction is excellent, and the heat transfer is excellent. Can't evaluate the coating because that is a long-term issue. The bottom scorched in the very first use.

This pan is exactly what we needed: it's lightweight, has the capacity and surface area we were looking for, and the nonstick properties are super easy to cook with & clean. With a lid = bonus! We use this pan virtually every day and every time I use it I literally exclaim, "I love this pan!".

Great pan for everyday usage, just stick to plastic/silicone utensils and avoid non-stick spray to preserve the dual-layer nonstick coating. Wood utensils should be fine, too. Just no metal. Super easy to clean after each usage as food releases easily, just don't place in the dishwasher, and wait until it has cooled before you do clean it, too. Stainless steel handle stays cool during typical usage. Helper handle ensures easy transition between stove top and oven. Not too heavy either. Just keep the temp under 450. Can even put glass cover in oven, too. Love the high top sides as I tend to make a mess while cooking. Very useful pan for most of our typical needs.

I haven't used the pan as of yet. I'm sure it's quality like all of my other Calphalon Classic pieces I own. It's a deep pan and should do the job on big meals. Nice weight to it and handle. Made in America!

This pan is a great!!!! I have enjoyed cooking in this pan. It is a very durable pan; made out of hard anodized aluminum. I have used it on the stove-top and in the oven. It has a dual-layer nonstick for easy food release and quick cleanup after cooking. This pan is also oven safe up to 450 degrees. The long stainless steel handle stays cool while cooking on the stove. It has a short handle on the other size making it easy for putting the pan in the oven and getting it out. I have cooked in this pan each week since receiving it.

This 12-in Jumbo Fryer Pan & Cover is great for cooking a variety of meals! Many of my pans were not big enough or deep enough for cooking the amounts of food at a time that I wanted. This is perfect for cooking a chicken and pepper fajita mix or even simple seasoned chicken breasts cooked in olive oil. It is also oven safe (up to 450) which is a cool feature I have found fun to experiment with while cooking different meats. With this large size pan I am able to cook the perfect amount of food evenly. I was super impressed with how light this pan was for the size it is and I like the sleek modern look to it. I have no problem moving it around the kitchen myself. The stainless steel handle doesn't heat up like other pans so I'm not at risk to burn myself when I'm cooking either. The non-stick dual layer aspect of this pan is amazing and probably my favorite part! Food is easily removed from the pan and it is so easy to wash with no heavy scrubbing or soaking the pan for hours. This is my favorite pan to cook meats in with a bonus of an quick cleanup!
