Versatile Calphalon Classic™ Nonstick Pan

We are Calphalon fans since years ago but this particular pan is great and versatile for several reasons. Calphalon Classic™ Nonstick 5-qt. Saute Pan with Cover can be used as a regular frying pan when searing meats or cooking them regularly. With the depth of its size and lid, it becomes a one stop hit meaning that you can create your meal and finish it all with the same pan, add ingredients, make larger dishes or smaller ones.
The wide base offers a heat coverage that does not crowd your food when cooking it, this is really useful when there are many ingredients or you are cooking for a bigger crowd.
It can be used on a stove top or in the oven up to 400 degrees, doesn't get much more versatile than this! The reason why we prefer Calphalon in our household is for the durability factor as well.

This Calphalon 5qt Saute Pan was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond my expectations! I needed a nonstick pan and this one does the job perfectly. I absolutely love that this is oven safe up to 450 degrees. I was able to do all my prep work in the pan itself then transfer it to the oven and bake in the pan as well! Not to mention the sleek design, I absolutely adore the look! This has quickly become my new favorite and go to pan. It's large enough to cook anything that I have challenged it with so far! Although I received this product for free, the opinons and views expressed here are mine and mine alone.

Perfect Saute Pan, Even Cooking, No Sticking!

This is a great saute pan! It is perfect for cooking chicken or just about any other type of meat. The see-through cover comes in very handy when you add veggies or sauce to the cooked meat to keep in the steam and for the meat to not dry out. This makes for an easy and quick one pot meal! I have used it many times in the last few weeks and nothing has ever stuck on it. It is also perfect for eggs. It is very easy to clean. The handle stays cool to the touch so no worry about grabbing it when I am cooking. It can also be used in the oven which makes it handy for certain recipes so you do not need to move the food from one pan to another. It cooks evenly and everything has come out perfect. To clean, I just rinse it out by hand and then wipe it dry and it is ready for the next meal. I really love this pan! While I received this product for free, the opinions and thoughts included in this review are my own.

My Calphalon Classic Nonstick 5-Quart Sauté Pan with Cover has become my go-to all-around pan. I’ve owned my Calphalon for approximately one month and have used it *at least* once—sometimes twice—a day. I’ve cooked all kinds of dishes in it: chicken, eggs sunny-side-up, spaghetti sauce, stir-fries, and curries. Lately I’ve been placing the tempered glass lid on top and steaming vegetables. The aluminum distributes heat perfectly and everything has cooked uniformly. I love the higher sides and how it prevents spillover—no more messy stovetops! The long stainless steel handle stays cool, and the pan is surprising lightweight and easy to move around. I highly recommend if you’re looking for something larger than a frying pan. It fits perfectly in my oven (oven safe up to 450°F). The best part? Cleanup is a breeze thanks to its dual-layer nonstick. It’s easy to store. My Calphalon made my life so much easier.

Warped

Bought 6 weeks ago, after using one time bottom warped. Now it sits on stovetop and spins around. Would never buy again. My older heavier calphalon never developed a warped bottom. No quality here!!

HORRIBLE

Received this as a gift for Christmas 2016, have followed cleaning instructions and discovered a big scratch in the nonstick coating. Very disappointed it hasn't lasted longer than four months!!!!!! WILL NOT BE BUYING AGAIN

Disappointed

On my second one, returned the first due to the bottom warping and same thing has happened again. I love the size of the pan but I can’t use it on my glass cooktop. I have a set of Calphalon Classic that I love— so not sure why this pan isn’t as well made.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received this pan from our wedding registry in June 2017. It was warped within a few months and now is so bad it's like cooking in a Wok. Very unfortunate because it a perfect sized pan.
