This was a great pan when it worked. We have had this pan now for about 8 months. Now it is warped and when it heats up it gets warped even more.This makes it unusable when cooking with.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Size, Perfect Pan except it warped over time

I bought this pan several years ago, and it's warped over time to the point it's not usable. I hoped this was an anomaly because I love the size of the pan and the height of the sides. I came to the website to buy a replacement, and in seeing a reviewer indicating their pan warped over a month, I have chosen not to buy a replacement.

Second pan to go wobbly

I bought one of these a year or so ago, and after the first couple of uses it didn't sit flat on my stove. I was careful to follow all care and use instructions. I received another for Christmas to replace it and have the same problem. It is very frustrating to purchase something that I believe to be high quality and it not meet my expectations.

Just what I needed

Recently I have begun to really work at eating in a healthier way, centered around lots of veggie stir-fry recipes. I wanted a pan with a large, flat bottom. Most 12" pans have sloping sides that minimize the flat cooking surface by several inches, but this pan is a full 12" of bottom surface. The pan gets very hot and holds the heat well. When full of food this pan can be heavy, so the handle on both sides is a safety feature. The non-stick surfaces works well and minimizes the need to add oil. I can put this pan in the oven up to 450 degrees. The glass cover fits well and allows me to watch how the food is progressing without lifting the lid and letting out the heat. I wanted Calphalon because I have other Calphalon pans that have become my favorites. In addition, I did not find any other brand of pan that had this particular size and shape. It comes with a lifetime warranty. That tells me Calphalon stand behind this product and that is important to me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great for family cooking!

We love this pan. I've used it for cooking dinner multiple times a week. It's great for healthy cooking because it's non-stick and doesn't need a lot of oil. It's also super easy to clean! The size is also great because it's big enough for family cooking. Not to mention how convenient it is to be able to put it in the oven and not have to use ANOTHER dish.
Just a note: I did receive this product for free but all opinions and thoughts included in this review are my own.

Finally a sauté pan I can work with!

When I got this sauté pan, I was surprised at just how big it is. I was imagining a sauté pan that could fit on one of my large burners, but it’s nearly double that! I’ve never owned a Calphalon, but after my great experience with this product, I’ll be buying more of their kitchen items.
One of the first things I made in this pan was chicken tenders. Normally, I avoid frying anything and have my husband do it, because it always splatters all over me. I’m thinking it has something to do with the skillet we have always used to deep-fry, because this Calphalon sauté pan was perfect for deep frying these chicken tenders. I didn’t get any oil splatters on me the whole time! The sides of the pan do not slope and the oil heats very evenly.
I also made a traditional South American dish, estofado de pollo, in here and it was fabulous. I loved that I could fit all the chicken, vegetables, and liquid in it without overcrowding. The lid worked wonderfully for this dish, so it could cook slowly and keep the heat in. Clean up after we ate the estofado was a breeze!
I am very pleased with the quality of this awesome Calphalon sauté pan, and I can’t wait to continue using it.
I got this Calphalon sauté pan for free, but all the opinions in this review are my own.

Warped

I received this as a gift a few months ago.
I have used it a few times on my glass-top range. The bottom of the pan has become warped and convex. It will not sit completely flat on the stove top. I have tried using a smaller burner, but it still cooks unevenly.
I do not cook on high; the pan was never in the oven.
I always wash it by hand with Dawn.
The information on the bottom of the pan is: Calphalon Classic Toledo Ohio
5005 5qt 4.7l 47 15
