The one and only pan you will ever need, I should have purchased this long ago. Cook a family style breakfast at once. One pan pasta. Easy to clean just remember no metal.

Not the same as my old Calphalon

I was VERY disappointed in this sauté pan and the 10" & 12" fry pan set I received. I have cooked exclusively with Calphalon Pans since 1992 (with the exception of my cast iron fry pans for steaks!). The quality has gone way downhill. This Sauté Pan weighs 1.1 lbs. less than my previous (same size) Calphalon Sauté pan and the thickness difference is obvious. I am afraid they will cook differently and will warp under high heat.
The metal is much thinner on the fry pan set as well. You can actually see the Calphalon imprint that is on the bottom of the pan showing in reverse on the cooking surface! Also, the end of the handles on all three pans is pretty sharp. I scratched my arm taking them out of the box.
I am replacing my old (purchased in 1998) non-stick Calphalon pans, as over time the finish has become scratched in places and worn. I never use metal in these pans nor do I put them in the dishwasher. Unsure why they scratch... I will, unfortunately, be looking for a new brand.
Needless to say, I am returning them and taking a hit on shipping. I know if I kept them they would go unused....
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Flimsy

I had a full set once a long time ago and was unimpressed for the price, but I wanted a large pan with a lid and solid handle that the screws won't come loose. Medium heat on the stove top and the bottom is warped after 1 use. I never use high heat and never immerse in cold water while it's warm and have never placed a pan in the dishwasher. This pan looks and feels solid, but warps as soon as you use low to medium heat. No longer sits flush. I hate wobbly pans.

Like large cooking area

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this several months ago. Heat transfer well across entire surface, sides are low enough for access with flipping tool. Downside is surface scratches easily with metal utensils. Have purchased other Califon pans in past that did not scratch easily. Very disappointed. Have not sent back due to not finding receipt. Will start looking elsewhere in future.

I love that I can make a huge family meal!

I did a ton of research and I knew I wanted to get a set of pots that were made of Hard-anodized aluminum. I have loved the set but I really needed a saute pan that I could use to make a full family dinner. I use to have to make 3 burgers at a time and now I can make 6 burgers at the same time. I can make a skillet meal and I don't have to worry about it spilling over the sides. This 5-qt. Saute Pan is the perfect pan to make dinners easily for my family.
Next I will need a large pot to make soups and sauces and I will be checking out the products from Calphalon.

My new go-to pan!

This Saute Pan immediately became my new favorite pan!
The size is really big and allows you to cook very large dishes or even boil pasta. It gives you enough room to mix many different ingredients. I love using it to prepare sauces and the big size allows me to add the pasta in the pan and let it soak the sauce flavor. The tempered glass lid is perfect to allow the food to moist!
Another favorite dish I love making with this pan is fried rice. To make this dish you are required to mix all of the ingredients well and the 5qt sauce pan gives you plenty of room to do that. The Dual-layer nonstick is magical! I normally hand wash my pans, and this made the process super easy and fast! It is also an amazing benefit when cooking.
The cast stay-cool stainless steel long handle definitely stays cool! You don't need an oven mitt when using this beauty. And the small handle is very handy when cooking big and heavy dishes. Im already in love with this pan and Im super grateful that it has a durable hard-anodized aluminum construction as I will be using it almost everyday!
