Powerful cooking

Ideal Oven for a Home Baker

We bought the Cafe to meet my baking needs. It is a conviction oven with 3 trays, which means I can bake about 40 cookies all at once. With the helpful app on my phone, I can pre-heat the oven anywhere I want. The notification on my phone when the timer goes off has been super helpful especially when I am away from the kitchen. What a great addition to my home bakery.

Sent Two Back!

I had to send two of this model back. Both emitted gas every time I turned on the oven. The first one was worse than the second. The gas smell was so bad that up to 40 minutes after turning off the range, I could smell gas in ever room of my 1700 square foot home. I even had neighbors come over to verify. That one was replaced with a second of this same model. Same gas problem but not quite as strong. In addition, the second one also had sticky glue all along the edge above where the oven door closed. There was no getting it off with ANYTHING.
I did love the cook top. I loved the responsiveness of the knobs which are very precise. That's why I have stuck with Cafe. I ended up with a THIRD of the CGS700P2MS1, which is the gas slide in. No gas smell. Initially, the place I got all of these ranges suggested that maybe I was not used to a gas oven when in fact, I've been cooking with all gas for 40 years. To GE's credit (or the store I bought them from) did not give me any problem with the returns.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I had an electric stove and wanted natural gas for a long time . We converted to gas and bought this range and so happy we did. So many new features on this range I never had before. Very glad we purchased this range.

The more I use it the more I like it

The more I use this stove the more I like it. From the center grill to the convection oven, everything works well and has a solid feeling to it. The stove top burners are great sizes and the knob controls are very precise. I don't use the wireless all that often but when I do it works well and stove has never lost the connection to my home network.
