Not happy with the cafe cook top. Difficult to clean & slow for burners to reach temperature

Also, since this is an electric cooktop, they do take some time for the burners to fully heat up compared to a gas cooktop, for example. Take a look at the following article to see if it helps. It centers on the type of cookware that we do and do not recommend you use on a glass cooktop. It's possible that the cookware you're using is slow to heat up: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16259
If your cooktop was recently installed, you may also want to make sure that it is getting enough power. You can contact your installer to come back out to check the installation if you'd like.

User Friendly!

I looked at a lot of cooktops before deciding on this one, and actually this is my second as I lost the first one "in the divorce" and never got to use it. The layout is perfect and enough choices as to pan sizes that everything has a place. I love the controls variations as well.
It is such an improvement on our old electric element stove top that I feel pretty special using it. I do hope to get more of the cafe' appliances in the future. (also "lost in the divorce".

Sensitive electronics

The heating element temp seems to change without any touch. For example, Boiling water at high heat just turns off on its own.

Wonderful upgrade

Even though this is the same size as my previous cooktop I am very pleased with the use of space that allows 5 cooking elements instead of 4. The touch type dials are very sensitive and easy to use. So far I am very pleased with my new appliance.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellet features

All glass cooktop heats up quickly and the sync feature allows you to use a griddle with uniform heating. The lock feature is a must for any household with cats who feel compelled to go anywhere. When I came into the kitchen without having used the lock feature, I found one of the burners was on. Cat paws clearly caused it to start.

So many features & easy to use!

Love this smooth cooktop! It has 19 temperatures levels and is so easy to understand how to use immediately. Heats up very quickly and is so simple to clean, too. Having five burners with two of them having multiple sizes as well as a bridge with two, gives so much flexibility to cooking. So happy I chose the GE Cafe` cooktop!!

Got stained after one cooking:(
We built the a custom stove surface… installed this top… started boiling water in a pot … after a minute, circles appeared on the black surface that are not removable

We'd love to note before using the cooktop for the first time, clean it with a ceramic cooktop cleaner. This helps protect the top and makes cleanup easier.
In order to clean the cooktop of stains, allow the cooktop to cool. You may then spread a few drops of ceramic cooktop cleaner on the entire burned residue area. Please use a non-scratch cleaning pad for ceramic cooktops, and rub the area.
