We have had our Blue Air filter for over 15 years. Still running great and essential for Northern California smoky days. We use it daily.

Listen to your customers - bring back Smokestop

I own 2 BluAir 503 machines and I am really upset that you no longer offer the original smokestop filter! The new Dual-performance filters don’t do the job and are outrageously expensive. We heat with a wood stove and the original smokestop filters cleaned the air of any residual smoke that entered the room when the wood stove door was opened to load. Other companies (Speed Queen is an example) have listened to their customers and brought back products after customer outcry. I hope you will listen to all of us requesting a return of the smokestop filter.

No Smokstop Filters = Change Manufacturer
on March 12, 2021

Yes. They had a great SmokeStop product that actually absorbed smoke. Then they changed the filter design for “improved air flow”. Too much labor on the motor or just looking to cut costs? The “DualProtection” replacement filter is no comparison, yet they kept the premium price of the discontinued SmokeStop filter. Felling ripped of?? You should.

Terrible filters

Why did u change the 500/600 smoke stop
filters the new ones are not nearly as effective super disappointed like others on your website complaining. I am all about improving things for the better but I dont see any improvement here except maybe to cut costs. Frustrating may change to a IQ air after years with your purifier

HI there! Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry for the trouble here. Our developers decided to improv the airflow of our carbon filters, so we changed the name also.

Dual Protection Filter Doesn't Work With Wildfires

My Blueair 650E with Smokestop filters worked great on our annual Colorado wildfire smoke. The new Dual Protection Filter doesn't remove the smoke from our air and I'm on the auto-ship program. Guess I'm going to have to go with another air filter with lots of activated carbon.

Not as good as smokestop

I loved the old smoke stop filters. They kept all odors down. Seemed like they had much more carbon as they were heavy and you could hear the carbon shake. The replacement dual control keeps odors down compared to the particle version but I’m not confident in them. Now i am waking with irritated lungs. I’d like to know why Blueair made the change and what testing they did for the newer filter including voc’s from the filter. I own four 500 series Blueair air purifiers and started using them over 6 years ago. All have automatic control. I wouldn’t want Wi-Fi in my home and would like to know why Bueair no longer offers the automatic control without Wi-Fi.

Hi there! The difference with our new DualProtection filters is that the airflow was increase. If you recall upon installing our old smokestop filters you could hear the motor having to work harder, this has been eliminated. The auto-function was attached to the air quality monitor we released at the same time of the Wi-Fi units in order to allow a clear and itemized breakdown of the air quality. The function has been added back to the 480i machine.
