After 4 months, Ice Maker is no longer working

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought our KitchenAid ice maker upon the recommendation of our friends. It stopped producing ice last week. It was great while it was working. We have called Whirlpool and scheduled a repairman. Hope he is able to fix as we have our family coming to town and really don’t want to purchase and store bags of ice.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not as nice as our last model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Solid appliance. However the stainless steel model we had last time was much nicer. This one has a plastic handle on the top and doesn't look.as sleek. But ot does its job.

Great Ice, Short Life!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this a month ago to replace the same model unit that quit working after only three years. This will be the forth Kitchenaid Model 805 ice maker, we have owned in the past. We love the ice, and machine, but the life of the unit is very poor. The first unit we owned lasted 7 years, with only one repair. The second unit lasted 5 years with three repairs, and the last unit only worked for 3 years, before complete failure. All the units were in the same house, in the same space, and the same use. The only reasons we replaced the last 805, with this new one, is that it fits in the under cabinet spot, and we love the ice it makes. Hope we have better life service from this unit!!
