This thermostat is easy to install and operate. I have only two complaints: First, the thermostat is apparently not compatible with older Honeywell accessories like duct temperature sensors and condenser water level switches. Second, there are limited features that you can adjust. It would be nice to be able to adjust the hysteresis on the temperature setpoints. These seem to be set very low because the thermostat cycles the unit on an off very frequently.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not customizable enough

My installation: heat pump with electric auxiliary heat.
The good: this thermostat looks slick and does a good job of maintaining the temperature most of the time. The temp reading it picks up is very accurate and responsive.
The bad: the T9 doesn't let you customize its logic and set thresholds.
If you want to control under what conditions auxiliary heat is or isn't used, you can't do that with the T9. So when you set a low away temp then return to your home temp, it will use auxiliary heat to recover. Costing you money.
On the other hand if you want to set what low outdoor temp will lock out your heat pump, you can't do that either. The T9 will always try the heat pump first then call for aux if the heat pump taps out.
Also it does not support variable speed compressors. Only 2 stages.

I've installed several and they are the perfect solution to 95% of applications. H/A Tech told me once to not buy a smart thermostat from a computer company. Instead, you should buy one from a thermostat company that is also smart.

Rated at 2 because the sensor works. Otherwise it looks nice but designed by people who did not try to use it themselves. Seems like the testing was only on paper.
When the room with the sensor is prioritized, there in no way to know that by looking at the sensor. Likewise if you have a schedule, it doesn't show for which room. So you have scroll through different screens to find out what is happening.
Example: if the main room(A) with the display is 19c and if room (B) with the sensor is 21c and is prioritized, the display in the main room will show 21c. So if a family member walks by not knowing the room (B) is prioritized, will think that room (A) is at 21c. Just one example.

Works fantastic! I love the setting I can set with it for when I’m home, when I’m away, and my bedtime settings. I like that it knows when to kick on right before bedtime. For it will be the perfect temperature as I’m going to sleep.

Does the basic - works the equipment - but won't stay connected to WiFi (eero 6). This is especially annoying since I have a Ring security hub & eero 6 router combination unit, and the Honeywell T9 is a Ring partner of some sort as they sell the thermostat on the ring-dot-com site. Once I put eero into "Troubleshooting" mode - it temporarily stops the 5Ghz radio - it connects for a while, but inevitably disconnects at some point after the 10 minute "Troubleshooting" mode ends. As there is not a way in eero to create a separate SSID for the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz radios, I guess I need to "troubleshoot" anytime I want to use the Honeywell or Ring apps to control the thermostat.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Can add up to six remote sensors for temps in various rooms/areas. App allows control remotely via home wifi connection. Can select thermostat or remote sensor temp as master to slave to heating/cooling system. Have two. Can control either system remotely from the app. It is awesome.

Doesn't support WPA3

Just installed a T9 only to find out that it does not support a WiFi network with WPA3 security enabled. WPA3 is a 5 year old security standard. My previous T6 Pro did not have an issue connecting to my WiFi network with WPA3 enabled. Once I disabled WPA3, I was able to connect the thermostat to my WiFi network. I sure hope that
Other than this annoying issue, the thermostat is great.
