This thermostat was very easy to and set up. It looks good on the wall although I wish it came with a backing plate to cover the space where the old thermostat was. The remote sensor has a good range and works from a different floor, through walls & doors and across my entire house. My least favorite part of the thermostat is that the programming options are very limited. Temperature Shown is the remote temperature only not temperature in the room where the thermostat is installed. You have to go through several steps to see the temperature in the room where the thermostat is. It also tends to overheat the house by a couple of degrees. It's supposedly a learning thermostat so maybe that will get better . The thermostat and remote sensor temperature is not room temperature but some odd algorithm supposed to mimic how people feel temperature. This is very different from any other thermostat I've ever owned. That said, it does what it's supposed to do and works for my house
Thermostat works as advertised but there is no wall plate to cover the space left from old equipment. Honeywell has produced plates for other models, but of course they do not fit.
It needs the C-wire no batteries. The C-wire converter kit is included unlike all the others that leave you handing. I used the remote sensor for my bedroom. This room is on the same zone as the rest of the floor but never got to temperature. Although the heat reaches all of the rooms at the same time, it stays on until the room with the sensor reaches temperature. I replaced the original analog manual thermostat that came with the house, the temperature was always wrong by +/ 5 degrees before the thermostat kicked in or shut off. I use the mobile ap with goefence. At least once it thought I was not home, in the model fo the night it went to away mode so the heat was set low. The C-wire adapter is nice looking enough to mount exposed except for the wires. I would need to make a bigger hole in the wall to position it inside the wall. If only the wires fed from the back with a mounting frame. I will eventually get into the attic to attach the C-wire which for some reason installers never use. Then remove the adapter.
