I like this thermostat. Very easy to set up on thermostat or on app. I gave it 4 stars because I bought the one with the sensor and it's a bit confusing to me to get the correct temp. We have a 2 story townhouse and the top is hot and the bottom is freezing. Still working on that issue.
The thermostat works fine and was easy to install. However the advertisements state that if you don't have a c-wire you can use the included adapter, but that is true only if you have a cooling and heating system. Since I only have heat, I had to purchase a different adapter. Also, the software is poorly designed. There is no user manual for the software and the one for the thermostat itself (must be downloaded) is minimal and not at all adequate.
Easy install - wiring was straight forward - works well with the add on remotes. able to get a little better temp balance across the house now. Not as "polished" as the nest, but not as expensive either and works just as well (I had a Gen 1 nest)
This thermostat’s primary benefit (to me) is that you can add remote temp/humidity sensors to the system. This has allowed me to get real-time readings in multiple rooms over both levels in the house, and to use that to adjust the airflow in my HVAC system (via dampers) to produce even temps throughout. This has never been possible before and has greatly increased the comfort in my entire house (not just the hallway with the main thermostat). If this is not possible with your HVAC system design, you can choose to use the sensor(s) in the room(s) that you wish to prioritize and have the system keep working until the desired temps are reached. Very cool.
These are great and fairly versitile, the only issue i have is that I have 4 heat zone in my house for a boiler. It would be great if there was a method to marry this thermostat with the remote thermostats so i could control my 4 heat zones, as it stands i would have to buy 4 T9 thermostats to make my house work. And in the future I want to increase my heat zones to 7 to make my system more efficient. I think its really great I can add 20 remotes, but when i cant use these to any more advantage other than checking temperatures around the house it is very frustrating based on the cost.
This is a great thermostat for someone that is older or does not deal with technology well. It is super easy to use, sets up easy and clearly shows when it is active. One major flaw is that the display only shows the active monitor reading and not necessarily the temp in the room with the thermostat unless that is the only place it is getting the reading. It should split screen between the active and the actual thermostat. If you are tech savvy or want control over your settings or have a duel fuel system or want the actual temperature outside of your house (not just the internet temp) or want to control your heat pump seperately or change the balance point with your thermostat then this is definitely not the thermostat for you. It would also be nice to control the amount of swing in the temp. This one keeps it exactly where you set it so it runs more than it has to. Great replacement for an analog dial, barely "smart"
