This is an excellent thermostat and it was very easy to install. We love it. The only reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars is because it isn’t compatible with Apple Home Kit.
Works ok but I wish that I could see how long I have used the heat or air in previous days. Also, I wish that I could set multiple per day heat settings
It’s simple to use and has a lot of features. Seamless installation and app is great. I wish the app had full functionality and allowed you to control every aspect of the thermostat. I wish the weather would display more than just a few hours in the future. I wish there was an option to make groups so that I can group all thermostats together. Overall it’s a great thermostat with a lot of features. It’s reasonably priced and hopefully updates are coming.
This thermostat was easy to install for the average skilled DIYer. The instructions were detailed and it came with a C-wire adapter for older systems.
The App easily connected to my WiFi an stepped me through the initial setup.
I then added two remote sensors to see if it really could work balancing the temperature in a single zone bi-level home. The thermostat is on the main level in the living room and dining room area, the lowest activity area in the home and the kitchen is in a separate room on the same level.
The bedrooms are up a 1/2 level and are always 3 - 4 degrees warmer than the main level and down a 1/2 level is always 3 - 4 cooler during winter months. I set up a schedule to give priority to the main thermostat during the day, the lower level in the evening and the upper level during sleep periods. I used to keep the blower running 24 x 7 to keep the air circulating, with this device I set it to recirculate and it now runs intermittently, between heat / cool cycles.
It took nearly 2 weeks for the system to learn our activity but now it keeps all levels at nearly the same temperature. It also took us 2 weeks to learn to stop looking at the thermostat display, as it displays the temp of the prioritized room and not necessarily the temperature at the thermostat.
We're retired and home all day, so we're not going to save a lot of energy with the Away setting (we deleted it), however we will save on our most expensive energy cost, electricity, without the blower running 24 x 7 x 365.
It is a good thermostat just that, with a lot of fancy feature that are a waste. Terrible customer support, never answer email and one hour to get connect with anybody if you are lucky.
