This has been a terrific upgrade from our non-programmable thermostats (we have two of these and one remote sensor for separate upstairs/downstairs heat pump systems). There are three of us in the house so once everyone’s phone was added as users, the geofencing function has worked wonderfully. Unfortunately with the COVID situation affecting all three of our jobs, at least one of tends to be working from home each day so I doubt we’ve seen much savings on our power bill so far.
I would give 5 stars if geofencing could be combined with a time-based schedule. With the T9 it’s one or the other.
Great user interface; the ONLY drawback is to allow all 3 to be controlled from same screen rather than EACH thermostat. Otherwise, its easy peasy lemon squeezy
So far the only complain that I have is the loss connection of the Thermostat with the house Wifi, this is not constant but it will happen. Still, I have to figure out how I'm going to deal with the Geo-fence feature because I leave the house and my wife complains that the Thermostat goes to Away feature and she is still in it. The interface is easy to used, the app is really good. Overall I like it.
T9 is a great thermostat due to the aditional room sensor and ability to control it from the App. So, no more getting up from anywhere in the house to control the temperature. Easy to program once you learn to navigate. Large display which can be seen across the room. Short of fantastic because: - wifi programing can't handle above 2.5G and this is not evident in the programing instructions. - T9 reports both: temperature and humidity, but is falls short of the options to use it as a humidistat or to at least provide an alert in case humidity rises above a level. - T9 display is large and bright at night, it should have the option of backlight display off at night. - T9 interfaces has a nice feature that reports outdoor weather in the area, but the app falls short of reporting Energy usage history.
Excellent thermostat. Wiring is a little tricky if you need to add the C-Wire Adapter. If the thermostat wires don't go directly to the control board at the unit but instead are wire nutted first, then a little extra thought is needed, but it's fairly easy. At one point, I had a question to make sure I was on the right tract and the support people were quick to respond and knowledgeable. The interface at the thermostat to set it up is very easy to use. I like the way the additional room sensor is used to balance out the overall temperature of the house. This is especially helpful if your thermostat is located in a hallway or area where you don't spend most of your time. If you want to upgrade you current thermostat to a smart thermostat, you can't go wrong with this choice.
We love that we have to ability to control the temperature in the part of the house that we are in. Our thermostat is in the hallway near the front of the house where it gets most of the heat during the day. We can tell a difference with the T9 only turning the AC on when it gets too warm in the living room, since that’s where we have the active sense set. It will hopefully save money on our electric bill!
