Good concept Poor execution

- Fan Circulation mode fixed to 33% while every other Honeywell thermostat permits improbability makes the circulation model useless.
- Schedule does not work When room sensors are used as priority. Schedule and Room sensor priority selection must be independent. Very Limiting design choice.
- If you have non-T series smart honeywell thermostat, you will need 2 apps. Honeywell should have ONLY 1 app that works with all remotes.

Ability to override/use only room sensor disables schedule which defeats purpose. Schedule and room sensor priority should be independent.
This permit a single or group of sensor use with schedule.
Fan circulation % is fixed to 33% which needs to be programmable like other Honeywell thermostats. Same should be for humidity threshold.
All honeywell thermostat use single app. T9 needs different app which is problematic for houses with different honeywell models.

Because I have owned both Nest and Ecobee thermostats previously, this review specifically compares the Honeywell T9 to those products.
Here is where the Honeywell T9 is superior to the Nest or Ecobee
- Price/Value: The T9 is priced very well compared to the other options and offers most of the same features and benefits
- Installation and Setup: The T9 was incredibly easy to install and configure for our home.
- Remote Sensors: The Nest does not have this feature. The Ecobee does

Here is where the Honeywell T9 is inferior to the Nest or Ecobee
- Design: Both the Nest and Ecobee are aesthetically more pleasing though the T9 is certainly not unattractive. The T9 main unit does not detect your presence in the room and thus the display remains active at all times. This is a little annoying in a bedroom if you don't like any light when you sleep. I wish there was a way to darken the display.
- Mobile App: The Honeywell App is easy to use and straightforward but not quite as impressive as the Nest and Ecobee Apps when it comes to features and flexibility.
- Auto Learning: Both the Nest and the Ecobee will learn your living patterns over time and create a schedule that matches those patterns. The T9 simply offers a manually programmed schedule or Geo-fenced option.
- Mobile App: The Honeywell App is easy to use and straightforward but not quite as impressive as the Nest and Ecobee Apps when it comes to features and flexibility.

Overall, I am very happy with the Honeywell T9. It is a great option if you are looking for a more affordable option to the Nest or Ecobee units. Since I have a dampered HVAC system with 3 separate zones in our home, the lower cost of the T9 was substantial and worth the savings.

False promises

I bought this product last year when it was advertised that it will be Apple HomeKit-enabled by the end of 2019. Till now there's nothing. Now I'm stuck with an over-priced thermostat that doesn't that doesn't have the only option I bought it for.

I needed to have a better way to control my upstairs temperature especially during the summer. The AC was running constantly due to the placement of the thermostat. Within 30 minutes of installing this and the remote sensors my AC turned off and stayed off longer than it had in the past weeks.

Installation Complete. Both T9s perform very well. Installation took an hour longer than expected due to necessary wall repairs. Purchased the larger wall plate as specified in the installation manual. But it did not work with the T9. So wall repair was the only option.
Also...
Bother T9s came with great installation manuals, but no user manuals. Never was able to find any reference or description of the “Preferences” or “Settings”. Manages to work my way through those items using the “Trial & Error” method.
Other than the items mentioned, both T9s are performing very well.
