Works on WiFi but this one will not connect to the remote room sensors. There is supposed to be a ‘net’ of sensors in key rooms to inform the unit but the first thermostat failed to connect to WiFi and the replacement won’t connect to sensors so this is not a dependable product and I do not recommend.

The thermostat was easy to install and does have some features that I like. However, the software controls are way too basic. For example, I'd like to run the fan if the temperature between the room sensor and the thermostat exceed a specific difference. Also the recovery between cycles starts an entire hour earlier. I decided not to use it. Since you have the outside temperature, why not do a quick calculation on the temperature rise needed and take into account that the outside temperature may affect how long it will take.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to rate the T9 smart thermostat, we appreciate the feedback and will utilize your comments to better improve future products.
We were using a non-wifi Honeywell thermostat with 8 sensors. Constantly having issues. Moved to an Amazon Smart Thermostat (made by Honeywell), 90%+ of our issues eliminated. Drawback was thermostat not compatible with additional sensor(s). Replaced with Honeywell Smart Thermostat managed by Resideo and added 1 sensor, very seldom have issues (probably mostly humidity related). Easily managed remotely & heat/cold parameters settings work well.
Over priced for somthing just as good as amazon brand. Doesnt do anything special. If anything i would pick the amazon model again before this one. Doesnt have any good features.

Don't waste your money

Worked OK for a few years, now is complete garbage. At least once an hour it goes into a bright white screen with a spinning wheel on it. Then it loses its' mind daily and gives me an error wanting me to set the date and time, but will not let me adjust it. When it does this it is no longer following the schedule, just whatever the last set temperature was. Now I have a junk thermostat and a couple of useless sensors since these are only compatible with this thermostat.

Love this thermostat. I had a simple Honeywell wireless thermostat that worked fine for me for fifteen years, but since we’ve retired our schedule isn’t as simple as being gone to work and being at home. I had an opportunity to get the T9 for a quarter on the price through our gas company, so I jumped on it. I love being able to create as many periods as I need to for our schedule, including cool-down time before bed. I haven’t used it yet, but I also appreciate being able to set a hybrid schedule with both heating and cooling in one day if need be. The thermostat is nice to look at, easy to read, and easy to see if the furnace or air are currently on. Very simple display unless you choose to drill down. A professional installed it for free and said it was really easy. He was impressed by the features and the ease and sophistication of configuring everything. A lot easier than with our old thermostat. Love the app, too - easy to set and change schedule, from home or on the run, and I can even check things like runtime. The app is sometimes a little slow to refresh, but that could have another cause.

Temperature Overshoot When Heating
on February 2, 2025
Posted by: SteveLO
I have used T9 thermostats on my two Carrier HVAC units since 2020. Two issues: 1) On HVAC unit #1 there is a large temperature overshoot when heating. For example, assume the set point is 73 F. The temperature shows 73 F when I hear the furnace stop firing. But by the time the fan stops the temperature reaches 77- 78 F. I wish that there was a tuning parameter that I could adjust to make the furnace kick off a bit sooner so as to reduce the overshoot. The performance when cooling is reasonably good. 2) On HVAC unit #2 the T9 reboots almost every cycle at about the time that the set point is reached. The T9 on HVAC #1 rarely reboots. The company that installed my HVAC units says that rebooting is the fault of the thermostat. On the plus side, the display is great - easy to read. And the APP is very good. For me, I've learned to live with the T9's limitations. However I would be reluctant to recommend it.

Hi SteveLO, thank you for your review of the T9 Smart Thermostat. The thermostat should have your system running until reaching the setpoint. not past setpoint. We will be happy to help verifying the configuration and troubleshooting. The thermostat rebooting could be a voltage issue, we will be happy to take a look at this. Our Support Center link at the top of the page has all the ways you can get in contact with us to discuss where the issue may be.
Our T9 Smart Thermostat has met our expectations in regard to being able to control our temperatures throughout the home while using a few sensors in different rooms. I believe where Residio needs work is the app, I don't believe you should be requires to go through multiple screens to see the temperature display for the different locations. Why doesn't Residio provide web access to the T9??? It sure would be nice if you didn't have to log in with your credentials each time you want to access the app, why not provide access for a predetermined number of days without having to input password?
