After moving in with my 90 year old grandmother, trying to simplify the home for her has been a challenge. we both love the T9 thermostat. The app is even easy enough for her to use, and it pairs well with the new heat pump we are getting. Thanks Honeywell!
Honestly thought I was going to need to dedicate time to upgrade to the T9 from my base Honeywell thermostats. Not the case! When I removed the old all I needed to do was mount the new to the existing plate as it was the same. Time gained!! Programming is simple and the app is outstanding. Huge fan of the T9!
Good but needs some work. Overall it is good but the one thing I really did not like about it was that it only has a .5 degree tolerance for turning on/off. It really seemed to kick on and off a whole lot. Most other thermostats have a 1 degree tolerance. There needs to be the option to change that.
This thermostat does everything you would want to keep your house warm or cool whether you’re home or not. Combine it with the room sensors and it makes this thermostat even better. I’ve owned 2 of these in 2 different homes now…. Better than a NEST or anything else out there IMHO.
The home we just bought has a whole home control system. The previous owner left leaving no instructions or documentation. It controls lighting, door locks, TV, radio, home theater, AND 5 zones of hydronic heat. I didn't care so much about all the other stuff but really needed to be able to program and control the heating in the house. I even called an ELAN rep out to help decipher. He had no luck. So I began replacing the zone control with the Honeywell T9. Bought only one at first. If I failed, I'd return it. But I didn't fail. It took a little extra wiring to get a common to the thermostat. Then, VOILA! It sprang to life. Without the manual, I began to program it. Easy peasy. At least one more zone needs control so I bought the 2nd one.
Now, 2 months later, there's no need for heating up here in the mountains. But the cold will be back. And that's when I'm going to buy two more T9 thermostats for the rest of the zones.
