This thermostat replaces a Nest thermostat that was So difficult to program. I have a background in technology and found it not user friendly. Then going to find directions was another thing that was a difficult. We have two homes, and we needed to have the ability to monitor temperatures when we are not in the other home. Both of our homes had Nest thermostats. The first one we installed was an OK model, and it works fine except when it came time to put in a new battery. I could not find instructions on replacing the battery and found a YouTube that took the little battery out but our fingers couldn’t get it back in. And I found another YouTube that showed how you charge it with a USB cable. Nest is not user-friendly, and Honeywell is a dream. We are monitoring both homes from a distance, scheduling the temperatures in our homes. The latest that we installed works with our energy supplier and we got a special bonus for installing it.
Thermostat does not track energy usage, only number of hours you run your AC. Software is no longer provided by Honeywell but now has to be completely rewritten by new subsidiary, Resideo, so don’t expect all features that other reviewers claim.
I can adjust or check the temperature whether I am home or not. Works great at our second home. In colder weather we turn the temp up prior to heading to the house and if we fail to turn it back down before heading back we can do it anytime after we have left. Easy to install as well.
Loving the ease of changing the temperature on my cellphone if I’m cold through the middle of the night. No more having to get up to turn the temp up. For me, that’s a win!!!
Good design. Well presented. Flexibility for multi room temperature averaging or shifting based on occupancy. Only grip, haven’t figured out how to lock in multi room averaging and fan cycling long term. It always resets at next schedule change time
Since I did not have a C connector I had to use the help line. I was well informed and finally everything works fine! Make sure that your power supply is MIN 24 volts. 23.8 v doesn’t work!!!
