Very intuitive thermostats. Love the remote access. The only thing missing from Honeywell T9 is the ability to EASILY change and lock a range of temperatures that a user can activate the heating and cooling (like a in a setting function behind an admin pin). I don’t think this can be done on T9 without going back through the initial setup. This is a feature on competing thermostat and it is very useful for rental properties.
Being able to monitor temperatures in different parts of the house is great. Having the thermostat use that data to regulate temperature for the whole house is awsome. Unfortunately sensors daya displayed in the app shows different temperatures depending on the page of the app one is using. There is no documentation to explain what each app page is communicating to us. In addition when the thermostat was first connected to the wifi it changed the time zone to 8 hours away and there was no way to manually override it while connected to wifi. A call to support resolved it quicky by telling me the app had to be installed, and an account set up, to get the T9 to the correct time zone. A significant first step not mentioned anywhere in the scant documentation that came with the T9 or with the extra sensors I bought. That's a pretty major omission if you ask me. Luckily it was a weekday when the T9 was installed and support was still open. Complete documentation with instruuctions on setting up the app and connecting the thermostat to wifi would have resulted in 5 stars. Sensors generally have a weak signal with 2 bars of wifi most of the time, 3 bars occasionally, even when the T9, sensors, and phone are together. Support is not able to determine why.
The network set up and programming schedules took minutes to complete. There are some other functions that I dont use that some might find nice like the Geofencing function. The actual addition of wiring for the common for my particular system was not easy to figure out. everything is based on a standard HVAC system and nothing revolving smaller heat pump based unti, so that took a minute to figure out. Normally the common (24vac supply) is located somewhere in the control panel. HVAC systems don't follow a normal wiring methodology for residential, commercial or Industrial electrical so that can creat some confusion. The controller actual, is very nice, easy to read and operate.
Perfect set up for us. Our thermostat is in the dining room but with the room senor we can better control the temperature in the family room where we spend most of our time.
This thermostat is amazing! I love that you can pick which room you want the furnace to concentrate on! Hands down best product we have purchased for our home!
Easy to install! Great instructions!’ I am very technically challenged and had no problems downloading the app, setting my settings or syncing with my home WiFi.
