Had a semi smart, 2 wire thermostat that was dieing. After a lot of review, mostly regarding shape and programmability, we chose the T9. Luckily my house was wired for either 2 or3 wire install (T9 requires 3). Install was easy, and after reading installation manual setup was pretty clear and easy. Honeywell also included a remote sensor to monitor an additional space (we have a large house). We installed the extra sensor in the basement. It's always a little cooler down there and the system used it's readings when motion is seconded in basement. The main unit also uses motion to trigger the temp readout to ON condition. Overall seems this T9 fit our needs perfectly..
Make sure you check the fine print!! There's a very small note on the door of the wall connector that has some specific connections that are required for a heat pump system. This drove us nuts as we did not notice that until two days later. Once that was connected the unit is a really great themostat!!
The Honeywell T-9 thermostat was extremely easy to connect to my home Wi-Fi and get up and running. I love how easy it is to adjust the thermostat from your device. We went on vacation for a week and it has a great “vacation setting” that can be used to adjust the heat to a lower setting for all the days we were gone. It’s a money saver for sure. My only suggestion would be to have it professionally installed on the wall. That part was way beyond us.
This addition to our house has been great! The wireless remote sensor has allowed us to make the house more comfortable. The menu is sure easy to navigate and looks sharp.
It got the job done. I needed to monitor the house temperature while away. The outside temperature displayed seems to be tied to the postal code, however the temperature is grossly incorrect when I use the correct postal code and I need to use an adjoining postal code. It would be nice to have a bit more flexibility in the display (like widgets on a phone) so that you could display time or change the size of each item.
