Our first smart/wifi thermostat (also Honeywell) stopped working (repeatedly reset/rebooted and inside temperature readings were way off) after about 7 years, 2 years after it moved with us to our current home. We picked up a T9 to replace it since that was the model I'd been considering when we moved had we left the old thermostat behind. The remote temperature sensors are a nice improvement which we have in the bedrooms to keep them more comfortable at night (before that the bedrooms dropped about 4 degrees below the living area where the thermostat was located).
Aside from the remote sensors and cleaner/modernized UI not a huge difference from the old landscape orientation thermostat. I kind of miss having all the information visible without tapping the screen (just the indoor temperature and some oudoor weather icon I think show most the time). We've only had it a few weeks now and I haven't gone through every setting to see if that is configurable; I definitely want to go in and dim the display.
Some minor wifi connection issues with our Eero mesh, but I expect that will be worked out eventually on the router end. It's dropped connection twice so far, but connected on it's own again. One time it didn't connect right away so I had to manually set up the date/time on the thermostat for it to continue working offline, apparently it doesn't remember the last date/time it had when last online.
The app/programming is pretty intuitive for the most part. My only complaint is that it isn't always clear when changing the schedule for a single day, will also change make the same change on other days. I worked around that problem by adding custom time ranges on weekend to have the later wake and up times without affecting weekdays.
This is a very good thermostat. Easy to operate from the Honeywell Home app, or from the thermostat. We also installed a sensor for the bedroom, so there is a choice of 2 locations to run it from. Honeywell products are reliable have always been the only thermostat I use.
So far so good. Got these as part of a remodel with new furnace. Don’t have zone controls, but using the multiple priority seems to keep upstairs and downstairs within 3-4 degrees. Still have to move in to see how it does with everyday living.
