Great thermostat. I like the ability to set up schedules, and monitor/adjust the temperature of our home from a smart phone. This gives me peace of mind when away the furnace is still working. The only downside I found is the geofencing doesnt work the greatest. Not a big deal for me though.
Unit was purchases for its options and future updates like sensor placements later on. Scheduler was the biggest need. Saves allot on everyday energy consumption. Install was ok. Did have to use extra wire from Wall to furnace connection for common. Works great!! Remote control unit also a plus!
Setting up was a pain. Boiler baesboard heaters in apartment style condos work in a way that when 24v is applied they close, so if the power goes out they will open and provide heat. For two days i could not get it to work that way, turn on the heat and the valve would close. I measured the voltage output on every pin under every setting and it looked like it was not going to work the way i needed it to, so i went and bought a relay to make it work. After wiring the relay in to fix that issue it was working in reverse, so it just randomly decided to work the way it should contrary to what it was doing the day before on the same settings. The only way to mount it to a wall is with a tiny drywall mount. My previous thermostat was mounted in a junction box, so i had to make my own mount to fit it over the box. The software is slow and the app is pointless. Tried the smart feature where it will turn the heat on before it gets cold to maintain a constant level. All it did was start turn the zone valve on and off every ten minutes. The temperature range and consistency is okay, bought it just to replace the mechanical one that would drop to 15 celcius before turning on. They provide a massive adapter for a furnace but cant provide a piece of plastic to mount to a junction box. No way to adjust the screen brightness when on. You can adjust it for idle, but not while active. On a positive note, it covers a junction box and isnt hideous.
The T9 thermostat was a very nice improvement to our HVAC system. The original thermostat was on a cold wall and would never read properly. When it was cold outside the stat would warm parts of the house too much, thereby wasting energy. With the new T9, we added two remote sensors and prioitized them for averaging and our home is so much more evenly controlled. We also are saving energy.
The installation and setup was very easy. I found the C wire was not connected in my furnace, but it was easy to connect it to the circuit board in the furnace and then the T9 worked great.
