Coming from a dumb thermostat this is a sleek and polished thermostat. However, the set up with an iPhone 11 was cumbersome. I had to try several times to connect and when it did it took a long time. Likewise with the app, I failed to connect a handful of time and gave up on it only to come back and back and try further and it eventually worked. There are some features that are not working, for example the schedule feature, even though it's enabled, this feature is not functioning as intended and I wish it did because it's a feature that would be very useful. Manually turning on and off through the app works great. But overall I can't say I recommend this thermostat as I believe there are better options such as the Google Nest in this price range. Taking away 3 stars due to all the non working features.
easy to install and operate. But for security there is a problem: any one in the house can get the security code by using the code in the equipment plus 1234. This is not good if I dont want someone to control the thermometer.
I was having trouble regulating the temperature in my whole house. One floor would be comfortable while the other wouldn't. The extra sensors with the T9 have changed that. I am now comfortable wherever I am.
Installed with one additional toon sensor. I was skeptical of this feature but the system works well and prioritizes the area selected. Integrated with Apple HomeKit smoothly. The additional sensor also works as motion detector which comes handy in the bedroom when waking up early while it’s still dark outside. Shows outside weather and inside humidity. Only annoyance is the display at low light is still quite bright. And wonder if it can be smaller form factor overall. In summary a nice upgrade from the old thermostat!
The T-9 is extremely easy to set up and use. I gave it a 4-star for only one issue and that is I've had this T-9 at a previous residence and recently moved but my email was determined to be 'already taken or in use'. So I had to get another email address, which is a waste of my time. But it was the only way I could set up this thermostat. This is my email and I moved! My old residence is no longer connected to the old T-9 but Honeywell can't figure out how to re-set for a new thermostat at a new location with a loyal customer.
