I bought one of these two replace my nearly 20 year old standard thermostat and for a while it worked great. Then after a year or so the temp readings were far from accurate and the scheduling was always incorrect. Not to mention the numerous times it would just randomly go offline. Then after about two years it completely quit. Now I’m back to a standard programmable thermostat.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Readout is large, but two issues experienced: (1) Doesn’t connect to all brands of routers/modems, picky. (2) If you connect an accessory, such as additional room temperature sensor, the screen on the T9 doesn’t display which temperature you’re looking at, unless you go deep into menus to find it. A more efficient interface would help. (3) I also found it would also too quickly cycle on and off my heating/cooling equipment, which I think would lead to premature wear on the compressor. Overall, I wouldn’t buy another one.
This thermostat greatly improved the heating of our second floor. We were able to place sensors in to separate room and made them the priority for the T9. Prior to this there was only one thermostat in the hallway which was thrown off by the 1st floor heat.
