The app is not very good, does not communicate well with the hardware device. The priority room feature is hit or miss, you can set it to one room and it will reset to two rooms and take the average even though you want it to monitor the one you preference. Disappointing they cannot come through on the backend, if they can work those out with software updates it would be a top in its class. I have the Nest Thermostat as well and it’s much better in terms of app communication to the hardware but lacks the ability to monitor individual rooms with a sensor. Again, this could be much better if the software was tightened up.
It doesn’t work well with mesh routers. I have to run mine in legacy mode to get the thermostat to connect to our wifi. It sometimes doesn’t stay connected.
The Geo fencing is a bit flaky in that it sometimes suspects u r not home when really u r. It takes over a week of usage before any hvac stats are available. Installation was pretty straight forward but took a while as I needed to convert from 4 wire to 5 wire with the supplied adapter. I haven’t had a chance to install additional sensors yet. These sensors are a bit pricey.
Good product. Does what it is intended to do. The only downside I have is that I would like to change the brightness of the display screen at night. One of our thermostats is in the master bedroom and the screen is light a night light.
Awsome product! We had and it older Honeywell thermostat that I installed in our old home but we left it there when we moved. We wished we had brought it with us until we bought this T9 and installed it. The T9 is better in every way from our older one. We use the wireless room sensor at night to have the HVAC maintain a good temp in our infants room for sleeping. Only thing I would change is I would write on the box that I’m big letters that it comes with the c-wire adapter. I didn’t see it so I was getting ready to install new wire and when a few hidden staples made it difficult I dug through the box and saw the adapter.
The thermostat itself is great The reason i gave only 4 stars is very confusing installation guide. I didn't have a C wire and the guide instructions were very confusing. I had to call a customer service and the rep Ali was very helpful but... I had to wait for almost 2 hours listening music and waiting for someone to answer. Same issue with setup.Had hard time to go through initial advanced setup, and spent another couple hours trying to navigate through, just because the manual was useless. Tried to call support again, but after another hour listening to music i gave up
