Pretty easy install after I covered the previous cavern of a hole that the previous installer left. Programming is easy, changing temp on the fly is a breeze.
having a thermostat in every room has helped us keep a more even temperature within our house and for that this unit is great. What I don't care for is the UI system as it takes multiple clicks to set a hold or vacation mode where as other thermostats I just hit the hold button and would be done. I don't care to use the geofence features, I'd rather be in control than have the unit think for me. I hope that with the Honeywell Home app I still get a report at the end of the month on my AC usage as that was a great feature of my previous thermostat. Guess I'll wait and see.
The programming is simple, the display is easy to read. However, the display at night is way too bright even on the lowest setting, so we use the blank it out option. And so everyone knows Honeywell gives your utility access to shutoff your AC without your permission. It's supposed to be an agreement with your utility company, but once you hook up WiFi so you can use your phone with it, they give remote control to adjust the temperature. So now I have disabled wifi and it's just a plain old wall thermostat.
Looks beautiful, easy to use and set up. Recommend

App randomly stopped working on our two phones. 90 minutes of our time later following and exhausting all the troubleshooting steps, support email came back with a "we don't actually make this" response, and that company only has "live" techs during restrictive hours. Looks like we'll just not buy another honeywell product and use the clunky touchscreen on the thermostat to program herein.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We’ve lived here for 14 years and since moving in, I’ve had complaints from family members that 2 of the upstairs bedrooms were too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. We even have central air conditioning. We’ve put ceiling fans in the bedrooms and vent fan units in to try and better regulate the temperatures to no avail. I got the Honeywell Smart T9 thermostat for my birthday recently and within a short period of time there were no more complaints and no need for additional cooling methods.
