An effective solution for challenging spaces!

Installation & configuration of this thermostat was straightforward. The packaging and included instructions are very comprehensive and well thought out. So far, this thermostat has made a dramatic improvement in the comfort of our bedrooms, especially with the addition of (2) wireless sensors to complement the single sensor that came with the T9. Now, our nursery is always at the exact right temperature. The ability to include or exclude sensors based on the time of day is a great feature and the Honeywell Home app is clean and simple to use, with just enough configurability without being overly complicated.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The thermostats work very well. Love the geofencing feature and never have to worry about setting them after initial setup for leaving the house. I alsi have set different times for sleep and awake hours. This feature has been my favorite and nice to be abke to sleep at a cooler temp and wake up to a bit warmer. It has eliminated that task from my daily routine.
So why a 4 instead of 5? The installation while not very complex does take some time and instruction details for the wiring can be a little confusing. I purchased two units. One was replacing a Honeywell thermostat that was onky about a year old but was just a basic unit not programmable. This T9 actually fit right onto the base unit and wiring of the previous one. 2 min install, no problem. The second was an older unit installed and whwn i matched the wiring to the Honeywell T9, it worked but heat was blowing cold and vice versa. Based on the instructions I had connected to the new T9 exactly as it had been but I had to reverse the O/B wire. I had even compared how it was wired with the first unit. The first unit had B as did the second unit. But until I switched the second unit to O, i was not getting heat. So trial and error to fix that but it has been working well since and I am very happy after living with them for a month.

Love the thermostat, lots of great features, even able to schedule turning off display at night in my bedroom. The app on phone works great too. Only downside, was the bonus C-wire adapter was still useless for me with only old 2-wire running to thermostats in my house. Still had to Hotwire it to a wall plug using a 24v transformer I had from an old tool charger. It seems you need to have 4-wire running to thermostats in your house for adapter to be helpful.

T9 for heat pump

Readings on face plate is big & easy to read. Programming device was easy too, but thermostat goes off & on when it's not suppose to when on Auto. We turn it "Off" vs. leaving on Auto. App usually works fine, albeit, doesn't always work.

Geofencing feature is useless

The Geofencing feature is kind of useless for my needs and the Geofencing was one of the main reason I bought two of these for my home. It requires you to have the same scheduled times for all 7 days of the week. Then if you switch over to using the Time Schedule which allows you to set different schedules for each day, it disables the Geofencing option. The software needs to be modified to use the Time Schedule with Geofencing option. Whenever you're home it runs the normal schedule and when you're away from home, it overrides and holds the thermostat and a set "Away" temperature.
Another issue I found was using the Geofencing or Time Schedule features with Smartthings. I tried to use the Time Schedule and use Smartthings as my Geofence. I programmed Smartthings to set my thermostat at 60 when I was Away. Smartthings would send a 60 degree pulse to the thermostat and then the thermostat would override it back to the Time Scheduled temperature. I now have the Geofence and Time Schedule features both disabled on my two thermostats and I'm using Smartthings to run my schedule and geofence.
I like the looks of the thermostats and they were easy to install. Also like the option to have the additional temperature sensors in all the rooms of the house which helped the issue with my bedroom being colder than the rest of the house. This would be an amazing 5 star product if the software issues were fixed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
