The Honeywell T9 is with 1 remote gives great flexibility for even heat when using a fireplace insert or wood stove in one room. I had to update my app from Honeywell to Resideo. I am disappointed with the new Resideo app. Honestly the old Honeywell total comfort app was much better. It displayed exactly what your furnace was doing and was much easier to use. Unfortunately the T9 does not work on the old Honeywell app. I wish it did. It was a much better app.
I don't like how the schedule is done. I feel it is complicated yet told must do through app on phone rather than keypad. Still struggling to add additional sensor and revise schedule
Lots of things to like about my new T9 thermostat, with the multiple sensors being foremost. The T9 is mounted near the return (as it should be), one sensor is in the master bedroom, the second in the kitchen. Because the temperature sensors also sense motion I dreamed of a warm winter kitchen only when we were using it, followed by an automatically warmed bedroom when we retired. No wasting heat on uninhabited rooms! The reality is a little different. Furnaces typically do not have the ability to shoot hot air at individual rooms, so the best the T9 can do is prioritize the sensor of interest, even if it means making the rest of the home warmer or cooler than the set point. Nevertheless, it is an improvement in my case and I like it. The second feature I like the most is the fan setting "Circulate". This runs the fan periodically even when the the furnace is not heating just to circulate the air. I like to think it's worth the electricity to even out the home's climate a little. Finally, I was really impressed with how easilly I got it to connect to my home wifi (5G even!). Next was easy installation into Homekit (Apple's home automation on my iPhone) so I could check and change the thermostat without spending 15 precious seconds walking to the unit. A minor convenience feature that geeks like me love. So why did I mark this solid performer down to 4 stars? It's because you can not use Homekit without installing the Resideo app! I don't want another app! My irrigation, stove, car, door camera, door lock all have apps, and in the future I fear my toe clippers will come with one! APPLIANCES SHOULD BE SET AND FORGET, not pick a USER NAME and PASSWORD, SIGN a waiver, UPDATE every 30 days, disclose your verified EMAIL address so they can send you surveys and marketing junk, and by the way support is ENDING as soon as we sell the company! And the reason you have to install the app is trivial, it is because when you connect wirelessly you CAN NOT SET THE TIME ZONE. That's right, your T9 assumes it is on London time and all your energy-saving schedules are off by 8 hours (or whatever)! Ironically the time setting screen has a daylight-savings time switch, but as Resideo support confirmed, no ability to set the time zone to adjust the time coming over the internet. Only the Resideo app gets the time right. So it's all (Homekit and Resideo app) or nothing (manual entry, no connectivity). Come on, Resideo, how can you overlook that? And Resideo, if you are listening, I have more suggestions. Put the sensor temperatures on the home screen, too. I want to see at a glance how my entire home is doing. Allow dimming the backlight at night, that thing is bright! And make the mounting bracket larger. The three mounting screws are intelligently arranged for easy leveling, but they are so close to the wire entry cutout that the fragile sheetrock in-between crumbles. As much as my frustrations pained me, full disclosure, I drank the Kool-Aid and bought another T9 for our 2nd furnace.
Way too bright, no way to turn it down. Seem to run often....like I have it set for 70, the temp is 70 and it turns on. Needs more customizable options
The T9 Thermostat is compact, clean and easy to install and setup. External sensors is a definate plus to keep the temperature at a constant in our living as the main unit is in the hall.
I bought this T9 Smart Thermostat a year before I used it as I waited until we converted our oil heating system to electric. One of the installers mounted the T9 on the wall for us finding the third wire tucked away in the cavity. When I first tried to follow the many steps to set up the programming linking the thermostat to my Samsung smartphone, it asked for two passwords that I had some trouble finding. Running up and down stairs from the thermostat to the desktop computer was frustrating. And then after all that work, it did not connect! I could operate the T9 manually but not set up the times and temperatures schedule. This also meant that at night I had to manually turn off the backlight completely in order for my wife to sleep so I just left it off. The thermostat worked on this minimal level and it did control the temperature well. Then a couple of weeks later, I gritted my teeth and tried to program the thing again papers, passwords and manual at the ready. It seemed like I had barely got started on this task when, voilà, it was connected to the phone! Eureka! I did not ponder why it happened so fast and just got busy setting up the schedule for the heating and the light. Now the backlight shows the temperature and time until 9 pm and shuts off completely for the night until the morning. The T9 Smart Thermostat works with great sensitivity and accuracy in conjunction with the new Thermolec boiler and our house has never been so evenly and consistently warm during the winter months.
Easy to use programmable T9 thermostat. This is my second one after moving to another house. The only issue is that each time I get a new T9 I need to use a different email address because Resideo says my old email is still in use at my former location, which it is Not.
