I own two Honeywell thermostats- a smart color and the T9. I like both. This T9 thermostat was installed in a second home. It requires minimal effort once you establish the blue wire exists. The T9 has been great for us and here is why... Our Master BR is downstairs but the main thermostat is upstairs which is cooler at night and warmer during the day. It used to get so hot downstairs because the heater would turn on because it’s degrees colder upstairs at night. The T9 allows you to install a sensor (or sensors) in another part of the house to monitor the temperature. I installed one sensor in my Master BR. The T9 now monitors the temperature in my Master BR at night instead of upstairs. I can regulate the heat so much better now! I now monitor both homes with my app and they both run smoothly on one app. This is a key buy for me!
works well when its set up and love the Alexa integration. One problem was that the thermostat was having trouble connecting to the router that was only 30 feet away. I moved the router 2 feet closer and it's working fine now.
I do warn the do it yourselfer that installing this in a home with only a 4 wire thermostat hook up takes additional skill. The instructions are good, but you must follow them closely, and you have to open your furnace and risk damage if you mess up. Professional installation is a good idea, really.
Had two systems, one of the thermostats was in a hall way. It was either to cold in winter or hot in summer for one side of the house, this fixed the problem. The sensor reads. Perfectly and now the temp stays stable in the areas as needed.
Fantastic chpice for classic interior. Our house was built with the T6 model installed, so the switch was quick and simple. The functionality is on par with the more expensive and widely known models but the logic and learning algorithm is superior.
I bought because of the geo fence capability which turns off the furnace when you aren't at home. However, I was really disappointed that when using the geo fence option it doesn't dove tail with a "schedule" option. I assumed that there would be a basic function of weekdays and weekends (at a minimum) so I could set the thermostat to comes on at 6:00 am weekday and off at 10:00pm (sleep setting) but on the weekends, I would be able to set the "wake" time to something else because who wants to get up at 6:00 am on a weekend! But it has 1 sleep setting only. It seemed like such a simple setting to include, but no. I ended up having to do a work around with Alexa asking her to turn the heat on "early" on the weekdays and off again before the sleep settings kicked in. In the end it worked but why did it need to be so difficult?
