This thermostat has some potential, but seems unnecessarily limited to the end user. It doesn’t make sense to me why a user doesn’t have the ability to view statistics live, or maybe even just be able to run a report whenever they want.
Purchased for the geofencing since our previous thermostat also had it (Lyric), and that works well with our different schedules. Working great so far and we’ve added a room sensor to balance the temp out.

I love everything about this thermostat except for 1 thing that is major for me. I needed a thermostat that detected motion in the house and would activate the Away or Home schedule to raise or lower the temperature when people were not present in the house. This thermostat is in an airbnb rental and I don't want to use the Geofencing. Unfortunately, I did not understand that the T9's motion sensor did not activate the Home/Away scheduling until after I had installed everything. The Nest has this feature, but I didn't like how easy it was for a guest to get into the setup mode) (And the Ecobee has this feature, but I don't want Alexa in the house). Setup was easy, Programming was easy, Tech Support was great (unlike the Nest's), I can lock the Setup Mode, the white control panel looks lovely and is super easy to understand and use. and no one will accidently get into the setup mode. Resideo: Please add the Motion Sensor Home/Away scheduling feature to your App and then you would be the best thermostat out there.
Easy to use interface and accompanying app, but it has a bug in that I am not able to change the temperature temporarily. If I try to change the temperature from what it is scheduled to be at for that time of day, it basically ignores my change and goes back to holding the regularly scheduled temperature.
Great product. Product needs to indicate, if you have two separate AC and heating systems, the C wire connection must come the system where the R2 wire is connected. If you have a R2 connection the thermostats is powered by the R2 & C wires. Which means that if you turn off the power from the system that R2 is connected to, the other system that R is connected to will not work because the thermostats is not powered up.
Had it for less than a month. Stopped working in the middle of the night with a memory test error, and the family woke up freezing. Tried a factory reset and it wouldn't even boot up anymore. Called customer support, they told me to return it. Replaced it with a cheap non-smart thermostat.
I installed four T9's to replace Radiothermostat CT-80's since support for these is discontinuing. My observations on the T9 are colored by the features I had with the CT-80.
The T9's usage reports are delayed 24-48 hours and then still only shows usage for the day, not by hour. The ios app lags so that I can pull up the app and it is showing a setting or temperature from the prior day and I have to make a change to something like a sensor setting in order to make the T9 show my current setting/temperature. I imagine it takes some action on the app to make it check with its cloud service that then polls my T9.
Apart from these negatives, the appearance is very clean. I like that it uses remote sensors, although that seems to be becoming a standard feature on smart thermostats.
It prompted me to apply for rebates from San Diego Gas and Electric and I tried to use the smart thermostat links, which eventually took me a connected saving california program which asked for a login without allowing me to create an account. I was still in the Resideo app so I tried to reach them and waited 30 minutes on Resideo's support line before giving up. When I have an hour or two to spare I will try again.
