Mini Label/Photo Printer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. This product is a good fit for anyone looking to make individual stickers. The wireless feature is great because you don`t have to hook up lots of cords and the machine doesn`t take up much space at all. My kids had fun creating stickers to go on their computers. The setup of the machine only took about 10 minutes which included downloading the app. The app could have been a little more user friendly since we had to play around with all the different features for awhile before we made the stickers. After we got used to the app we were able to make the stickers fairly quickly. The only things I would change about this printer are the vividness of the colors and the way you cut the stickers. Colors were faded on both the clip art and the photos after 2 uses. It is also confusing to cut the stickers after the have printed. You have to run your finger across an area on top of the printer. One of my kids didn`t realize this and tried to pull the sticker out. Overall if you are looking for a small wireless label printer I think you would be happy with this product.

No computer app!

I was looking forward to using this--till I got it.... does print great but brother does NOT provide a computer based software that is up to date for use with this and their support will not help you at all and simply tells you to use the mobile app. I DO NOT want to use mobile app, I want to use the computer.

Very poorly engineered

Teriible drivers and UX, just like all their products. Can't get AirPrint to work at all. Never buy a Brother printer

Brother products work flawlessly-this one hasn't

Great for my needs

Needed colorful labels for kids, and I was attracted to the no-ink technology. It does the job: set-up with the WiFi was not as easy as I wish it would be, but I got through. The app (which I use interchangeably on a phone or tablet) is pretty easy to use once you understand how it works. I was able to download different art packs which was really good and helped made creative and colorful labels. Cons: cartridges are expensive and run through fast: I thought it was great not having to buy ink cartridges, but these are as expensive if not more and don’t last. Also, it’s best to use the 2inch cartridges, the 1 inch is very small. All in all, this little machine does what I need it to and while it’s rather expensive (machine and cartridges), the cost is justified to me.

Too Thick

I find that that the label paper is way to thick to add to product containers. You can clearly see the label and it soo thick that it is visible and can lift off product containers quite easily. I think the label paper could be a bit thinner. It also takes very long to print one label.

Interesting little printer

I have to agree with another review that out of the box it was time consuming to install drivers and software. It’s not plug and play and its not click and print. I also found it difficult to hook up as a wired (usb) printer. It seems they are pushing for their app style printing with this device then on a PC computer. I am also not impressed with the color. Color is off on label compared to the computer. I printed a deep blue and the color printed out muted or lighter blue on the label. While I like the small simple design and the inkless feature there are some things that need to be tweeked in order for this be be better in my option.
